judging from twitter ppl seem to love this dude ive just never seen this sort of reaction to the death of a producer i guess like this before, obvs not saying they shdnt but kind of curious like why he is so well known/loved when his biggest things seem to be producing a a tv show and having a twitter account that was 100% RTs

he was a super popular podcast guest on some super popular comedy podcasts and he had a way of presenting himself as an underdog that prob caused a lot of people to identify w/ and root for him. xxp

xxxxpost HW was not just a producer, he was ubiquitious on comedy podcasts, particularly Comedy Bang Bang (often appearing with Chelsea Perretti and Adam Scott) so people felt like they knew the guy. He was pretty fucking funny in a weird low-key way.

i feel like all these headlines characterizing harris as a producer is just the media reaching for the most traditionally "impressive" hollywood credential he had, dude was primarily known as a comedian and writer and part of the UCB crowd.

he was also both an "unfettered speech or die" kind of guy, and (as sarah silverman mentioned yesterday) someone who felt very deeply, which makes the "don't be negative in his obit" issue kind of tangled imo.
