cream in coffee is probably my favourite addition to coffee. Steamed milk second.
I tried hemp milk once and it was AWFUL. It was all we had in the house. I had to make new coffee.

ya id rather just drink it black, which i dont mind at all tbh, than use in any of those other milks, no offense to any partisans of the other milks
― lag∞n, Tuesday, 17 February 2015 02:26 (eleven years ago)
Me, too. Alternamilks can get kind of grainy, or they are just too thin. Black with sugar is nice, too, though.
― about a dozen duck supporters (carl agatha), Tuesday, 17 February 2015 02:37 (eleven years ago)
i never put sugar in there

I always drink one cup in the morning but the afternoon cup can be kind of rough, the thought of all that black acid
That's why I've been thinking about getting an espresso machine
Cut down on that black acid
Where would I put it though
Who would even have time fo rit
What is espresso even
― 龜, Tuesday, 17 February 2015 02:49 (eleven years ago)
i drank a cup this afternoon cause i got mexican food and thought to myself hmm a cup of black coffee with this
― lag∞n, Tuesday, 17 February 2015 02:56 (eleven years ago)
I think a whole cup is just a lot of voluem to think about when the day is more than half over
― 龜, Tuesday, 17 February 2015 02:58 (eleven years ago)
jus take a break to sip on a lil espresso i cld see that
― lag∞n, Tuesday, 17 February 2015 03:00 (eleven years ago)
i get espresso in my coffee (shot in the dark) most often these a.m.s
― mattresslessness, Tuesday, 17 February 2015 07:41 (eleven years ago)
it can be surprisingly good but is usually caffeine juice tasting of coal. i like the russian roulette aspect though (guns, shots)

I wish my manual burr grinder was quiet enough to use at the office :(

some "natural foods"/foodie types have been complaining on facebook about starbucks new "coconut milk" not really being coconut milk, but tbh they're probably just making another attempt to create a non-dairy "milk" that simulates the sweetness and texture of cow milk so nbd
― mh, Tuesday, 17 February 2015 19:44 (eleven years ago)
Kind of a bd for me, I can't drink it bc it's thickened with guar gum.
― Orson Wellies (in orbit), Tuesday, 17 February 2015 19:44 (eleven years ago)
Which is also why I can't have coconut milk ice cream.
I can't drink coffee since I got sick. like whiskey it tastes awful.
― local eire man (darraghmac), Tuesday, 17 February 2015 19:46 (eleven years ago)
rip darragh
yeah, I think some of the thickeners/stabilizers are dealbreakers for a lot of people, but tbrr just putting plain old coconut milk in starbucks coffee wasn't going to happen. it's like a ever-losing game to find something that approximates dairy without having it contain yet another thing that non-dairy consumers can't have.
drink coffee black, I guess
― mh, Tuesday, 17 February 2015 19:50 (eleven years ago)
Coconut milk, at least the stuff at Trader Joe's makes me wildly nauseated. I have no idea why.
― about a dozen duck supporters (carl agatha), Tuesday, 17 February 2015 20:06 (eleven years ago)
Poor mans mocha: tsp cocoa powder, tsp sugar, cold milk, filtered coffee

― lag∞n, Sunday, 22 February 2015 22:14 (eleven years ago)
my grandma gave us a whole foods gift card for xmas so today i splurged on some fancy coffee (and halibut)

― walid foster dulles (man alive), Monday, 23 February 2015 19:31 (eleven years ago)
yeah everyone says you positively cannot use coffee grinders for spices, you just can't, no amt of cleaning will fix it

do u have any fish
― difficult-difficult lemon-difficult (VegemiteGrrl), Monday, 23 February 2015 21:37 (eleven years ago)
I got a 2nd coffee grinder for beans and retired the old one to spice-only duty, but even when I was using one grinder for both, it wasn't that hard to clean. (Keep some cheap rice on hand and grind to a fine powder when you want to switch between spices and coffee, dump it out and wipe the grinder out real good with a dry paper towel. Almost no flavor carry-over.)

That might work and all, but I'd still be real pissed if someone dumped a bunch of spices in my coffee grinder

Nah, dog, blade grinder dedicated to spices. Cheaper than a good mortar and pestle anyway.― Kiarostami bag (milo z), Monday, February 23, 2015 3:49 PM (1 hour ago) Bookmark Flag Post Permalink
no no I meant you can't use a dedicated coffee-grinder-that-you-use-for-coffee-beans; everything I've been told says to get a second blade coffee grinder.
