Lol
The book isn't really finishable but it's interesting that it exists in that it's like what if an idiot wrote a book, like a really stupid person like Homer Simpson or someone, and they weren't even quite sure what a novel actually is or how basically anything works but they managed to write it anyway and there are three of them

and the third one is called fifty shades freed and the best way I can make that makes sense is that at some point the author decided that the protagonist is actually called "fifty shades"

my co-worker was just saying that this started out as twilight fanfic?
also, the lady next to be on the train yesterday was reading something on her kindle and holding it very close to her so of course I stole a peak and from the first line I knew it had to be this. Then I saw "Christian" a couple lines down. lol.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E._L._James
James initially wrote fanfiction under the pen name "Snowqueen's Icedragon", with her most notable work being a Twilight fanfiction that eventually developed into Fifty Shades of Grey,[12][13] and subsequent film adaptation.[14] James has spoken of her shock at the success of the book. "The explosion of interest has taken me completely by surprise" she said.[15] James has described the Fifty Shades trilogy as "my midlife crisis, writ large. All my fantasies in there, and that's it."[16] She did not start to write until January 2009, as she revealed while still active on fanfiction.net as Snowqueen's Icedragon: "I started writing in January 2009 after I finished the Twilight saga, and I haven't stopped since. I discovered Fan Fiction in August 2009. Since then I have written my two fics and plan on doing at least one more. After that... who knows?"[17] In August 2013, sales of the trilogy saw James top the Forbes' list of the highest-earning authors [18] with earnings of $95m which included $5m for the film rights to Fifty Shades of Grey.[19]
Totally hope she gets a biopic someday

Our first Christmas together I bought her a tin opener, and my earliest experience of kinky sex was her trying to shove it up my arse.
Now's as good a place as any to reveal that my hit series "Game of Thrones" began as Hobbit fanfic. The editors took out all the good stuff, though, and replaced it with, like, dragons and barbarians and stuff.

She did not start to write until January 2009
i'm assuming this means she did literally not put a pen to paper, or construct an entire sentence, until 2009. the results seem to bear this out.

Showed that one to my wife, who voted "oh my" as her favorite.
She had a good theory, though, that this book came out just as or after the Kindle sort of crossed over, so it was the first time a lot of women could purchase and consume erotica (or more specifically, erotica vetted to be relatively "safe") privately. No one knew what you were reading on the train, etc. That it happened to be a POS, like so many other gateway breakthroughs, was almost beside the point.
