years ago a bunch of my coworkers got tix for a free screening of twilight through work, my friend & i sat together & without really meaning to basically riffed the entire movie to a coworker who still says to this day that it's the only way he could have survived

i should be clear that my wife isn't keeping me away from her girls night out because they're all going to take this seriously. pretty sure none of them were actually able to finish the book - they're going to smuggle booze in and lol, for sure.

This book sold a bazillion copies, but I wonder how many were able to make it through. Like, the "Twilight" books were apparently garbage, but I know people who still plowed through, guilty-pleasure style. But my understanding is that these books are truly, truly POS express.

i am man enough to admit that i slogged through about 100 pages of the book before giving up

however i am embarrassed to admit that after seeing the trailer, it was the first time i've ever seen a film adaptation of a book i read look EXACTLY how i constructed it in my imagination. not the sex scenes, but just like the sets/locations etc were such a photocopy of my mental image that it was jarring
