I have really enjoyed Michael Pitt on screen but I don't know if he's actually a good actor or if he just does the charismatic asshole thing well

I know he's apparently hell to work with

on the bright side, maybe all the time they had to spend putting him in makeup gave him the opportunity to actually learn his lines at the end of last season

I am not sure about the Eddie Izzard inner dinner party debate sequences. It's an interesting way to illustrate what Hannibal asked Bedelia about her anticipation of others' emotions and actions, but I hope it's not ongoing. Not that it could be, as he was about spent as far as limbs go.

i think it was to emphasize how much hannibal craves an audience

The casting of someone recognizable as the patient Hannibal sent to Bedelia to bait them into a murderous situation seems to indicate we might see more flashbacks to her grooming

great episode tho, hallucinatory/non-chronological vibe was really effective - as was the switching between 1.85 and full widescreen for present vs. past respectively

The look on Anderson's face when she's told her diet is what Romans fed animals to make them tastier, well...

i thought the izzard sequences are meant to suggest that hannibal could very well be preparing bedelia for eating and that she's acutely aware of that possibility but is trapped in a self-destructive cycle that he's constructed for her
have we ever seen hannibal engage in sexual activity? he seems to full of himself to allow it. it occurred to me that the sound of mads and gillian fucking would be that of a cello being bowed by a leather gloved hand.
