wow for a show that we manage to talk about so much it sure is boring isnt it
― celfie tucker 48 (s.clover), Monday, 12 January 2015 04:56 (eleven years ago)
Marnie-fails always oddly gratifying
― Οὖτις, Monday, 12 January 2015 16:36 (eleven years ago)
I hate Marnie's band
so
fucking
much
― Jennifer 8. ( (Stevie D(eux)), Tuesday, 13 January 2015 01:18 (eleven years ago)
I thought they were one of the better things in the episode. The ass eating was good and Elijah was good as always. Or maybe it's just the actor, he's always good isn't he?
― Acting Crazy (Instrumental) (jed_), Tuesday, 13 January 2015 02:13 (eleven years ago)
they are such a terrible folk duo, their attempts at "harmonizing" are laughable
― Οὖτις, Tuesday, 13 January 2015 18:56 (eleven years ago)
"boring" otm
― shmup....smug....shmub....shmug.... (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 13 January 2015 19:09 (eleven years ago)
I read some ep summaries and it looks like my last watched episode is the end of season two.
Do I watch season three? Should I skip to new eps?
― valleys of your mind (mh), Tuesday, 13 January 2015 19:28 (eleven years ago)
since this show is v plot-driven I would say no don't skip s3
for one thing, there is great Laird action in season 3
― Οὖτις, Tuesday, 13 January 2015 19:31 (eleven years ago)
I don't even remember who Laird is! I'm sure it'll come back to me
― valleys of your mind (mh), Tuesday, 13 January 2015 19:32 (eleven years ago)
lol I couldn't either, but then I looked it up and realized I remembered the character just not the name
― walid foster dulles (man alive), Tuesday, 13 January 2015 19:32 (eleven years ago)
You know what's even more boring than Girls? Togetherness, which I was looking forward to because Mark Duplass is awesome on The League.
― Kiarostami bag (milo z), Tuesday, 13 January 2015 21:19 (eleven years ago)
I need to try Looking just to see if HBO has hit a trifecta of "why would anyone watch these whiny people not be funny or interesting for 30-45 minutes?"
― Kiarostami bag (milo z), Tuesday, 13 January 2015 21:20 (eleven years ago)
I really liked the first episode of Togetherness, will totally watch

― Josh in Chicago, Tuesday, 13 January 2015 21:50 (eleven years ago)
Elijah was good as always.
His line about how he wouldn't have to see his ex if he didn't live in New York had me genuinely LOLLING
― #Research (stevie), Friday, 16 January 2015 09:59 (eleven years ago)
Same, but I'd started when said ex turned up at brunch wearing three tired New Jersey faghags.
― camp event (suzy), Friday, 16 January 2015 10:11 (eleven years ago)
The first episode seemed more like the last one of the series before.
― Minaj moron (Re-Make/Re-Model), Friday, 16 January 2015 11:05 (eleven years ago)
Elijah is consistently the funniest lately. but this show isn't particularly interested in comedy.
― Οὖτις, Friday, 16 January 2015 16:39 (eleven years ago)
I like his character, he's very good at doing that thing where a person is obviously full of shit but kind of believes his own bullshit.
― walid foster dulles (man alive), Friday, 16 January 2015 17:35 (eleven years ago)
ok the degree to which this writing workshop episode is incredibly awkward is sorta the narrow sweet spot where the show shines
― celfie tucker 48 (s.clover), Monday, 19 January 2015 21:54 (eleven years ago)
Elijah again w the only laughs
― Οὖτις, Monday, 19 January 2015 23:35 (eleven years ago)
I couldn't watch the writing workshop all the way through.
― franny glasshole (franny glass), Tuesday, 20 January 2015 00:50 (eleven years ago)
as many problems as i have with this show, there's a compilation of those and related scenes that should be shown to every young person interested in creative writing on every campus in america
― celfie tucker 48 (s.clover), Tuesday, 20 January 2015 00:53 (eleven years ago)
ha, yes
― Sounds like a forks display name (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 20 January 2015 01:00 (eleven years ago)
yes x1000 - I had a concentration in creative writing as an undergrad and fear of shit like that is one of the reasons I decided not to continue that path into grad school. That scene was so horribly awkward. Also Elijah is the best and I think I hate everyone who is not him too. Why am I still watching this?!
― Benson and the Jets (ENBB), Tuesday, 20 January 2015 13:18 (eleven years ago)
god I haaaated Elijah when he was introduced but he has really grown on me.
― Jennifer 8.-( (Stevie D(eux)), Tuesday, 20 January 2015 14:06 (eleven years ago)
Like HPV.
he's a stereotype/caricature - at the same time I totally had friends p much exactly like him at that age
― Οὖτις, Tuesday, 20 January 2015 16:25 (eleven years ago)
I def feel like there are scenarios w/ certain friends and at certain events where I am an Elijah and it kind of horrifies me.
― Jennifer 8.-( (Stevie D(eux)), Tuesday, 20 January 2015 16:35 (eleven years ago)
rly hope someone who's met me will rush in and vehemently deny this
― Jennifer 8.-( (Stevie D(eux)), Tuesday, 20 January 2015 16:38 (eleven years ago)
i have a disproportionate number of friends who went to the Iowa Writer's Workshop, so i look forward to seeing this & hearing how they got it wrong.
― virtuoso thigh slapper (Jordan), Tuesday, 20 January 2015 16:44 (eleven years ago)
from a friend on facebook: "The one thing they got right: Lena Dunham is definitely the type of person who would corner you in a booth at the Foxhead after workshop and demand to know why you hated her story so much."
― virtuoso thigh slapper (Jordan), Tuesday, 20 January 2015 16:57 (eleven years ago)
I can't speak to it's realism, but this was def the most enjoyable episode in a long, long time
― Chuck_Tatum, Tuesday, 20 January 2015 19:56 (eleven years ago)
I liked the bat.
― akm, Tuesday, 20 January 2015 20:24 (eleven years ago)
another almost entirely laugh-free episode (until her exit from the convo at the end, that was lol)
― Οὖτις, Monday, 26 January 2015 19:09 (eleven years ago)
sounds like I have two hours of unenjoyable television to get pressured into catching up on while I'm snowed in

maybe we can check in with Ray in NY occasionally. Marnie and Jessa can turn up for the finale and say hi
