justice department's non-charging of Zimmerman is really the least terrible aspect of this case, relatively. It shouldn't even have to come down to needing the feds to get involved, only that way because the state's law and police are so fucked.

It's less about media attention accomplishing something than about inattention being discouraging.

Yeh the fatigue is sad too. I guess I was thinking more generally about the significance of events getting media attention or not. A friend has been talking about how encouraging he finds MSM interest in stuff like Occupy Wall Street and protesters' occupying the St. Louis PD, and how 10-15 years ago it wouldn't have been a story.

watched the doc 3.5 minutes, 10 bullets on the Jordan davis shooting, its good. quite telling imo that the murderer was like (paraphrasing) "I cant believe they don't have criminal records they must be under the radar all their youtubes are like gangster rap" (they were clips of them in a car rapping along to like lil b or something)

also these details immediately post shooting from the wiki (Rouer is his gf)

The racist bullshit on Tamir Rice stories has gotten so bad that Cleveland.com had to turn off comments on all Tamir Rice-related stories. (Although they're more than happy to let it continue on any other crime stories or Obama-related stories.)

Rosa Parks was arrested 60 years ago today. It's Rosa Parks day in Ohio and Oregon today (California and Missouri celebrate it on February 4, her birthday -- it isn't celebrated in any other state than these four.)

I just think it's nice to remember.
