iirc the frosted tips were more like abercrombie dorks and definitely not hot
I was a victim of frosted tips for a very unfortunate hot minute in the 90s. My gf at the time found them hot, though I'm sure even she would rescind that if asked now.

I remember not died bands but some variation on the "chelsea" haircut being popular for a little while, hair buzzed everywhere but long bangs. Some of the cool kids had this for a few months in '94 or something.
