(Jon?) Bon Jovi to play Central Park in July

the headline suggests it might be a solo show (which could happen 7/16 at Rumsey), but he seems to indicate it's a band show. would that require the Great Lawn? can you charge for that?

gabbneb, Wednesday, 30 April 2008 13:58 (sixteen years ago) link

This one looks good:

MEDESKI MARTIN & WOOD / MARC RIBOT'S CERAMIC DOG / TAYLOR MCFERRIN & THE CELL THEORY

Marc Ribot's Ceramic Dog features Ches Smith and is quite good. MMW are defensible, and I have no idea about the other band.

Also this:

Sunday, August 3

AFRICAN GUITAR FESTIVAL with OLIVER MTUKUDZI & BLACK SPIRITS, HABIB KOITÉ & BAMADA / DABY TOURÉ / YOSSI FINE & AFRIKAN BASS / EXTRA GOLDEN

Hurting 2, Wednesday, 30 April 2008 17:20 (sixteen years ago) link

yeah, I got over MMW in collidge, but they're great when Ribot plays with them, which I would hope for

gabbneb, Thursday, 1 May 2008 17:52 (sixteen years ago) link

damn that's pretty solid, Liars at the pool for free ..... Black Lips would be fun... King Khan .....

The Breeders, MGMT, The Hold Steady, Liars, Aesop Rock, Black Lips, Deerhunter, Fuck Buttons, Matt Kim, Black Moth Super Rainbow, Team Robespierre, The Loved Ones, Panther, King Khan and His Shrines, & Ting Tings
