― Nhex, Sunday, 9 November 2014 21:36 (eleven years ago)
I was kind of startled by how thoroughly they committed to Machete Man and that he didn't actually murder anyone in the Battlestar Galactica/Star Trek section
― the farakhan of gg (DJP), Sunday, 9 November 2014 21:54 (eleven years ago)
well, he's killed by the laser eyebeam cat which triggers the universe move into BSG/Space:2099 territory... though i guess that transmorphs him into the evil alien race...i love that there's so many ideas in this, damned if i know if they actually amount to anything
― Nhex, Sunday, 9 November 2014 22:32 (eleven years ago)
the sci fi bit really is the standout

I really hated that turn as well. Really glad I didn't fall asleep watching King of the Hill or whatever and then wake up to take a pee at 3 in the morning with this stuff on. Reminded me of an episode of Squidbillies from back in 05 or 06 where everybody caught on fire and the whole show just came to a grinding halt focusing on their burnt bodies. I mean, for all I know, that describes every episode of Squidbillies, but it was a big factor in deciding not to renew my cable subscription that fall.
― how's life, Sunday, 9 November 2014 23:23 (eleven years ago)
the songs was written by the squidbillies guy
― puff puff post (uh oh I'm having a fantasy), Sunday, 9 November 2014 23:24 (eleven years ago)
the machete guy standing right there in front of the camera at 20 secs in was def the most jarring thing to me
― puff puff post (uh oh I'm having a fantasy), Sunday, 9 November 2014 23:25 (eleven years ago)
Personally I loved the descent into late '70s sleaze horrorKnowing that this was played for half-awake adult swim fans at 4am is fantastic
― Nhex, Sunday, 9 November 2014 23:26 (eleven years ago)
xp Loved that bit, where he's taken over the sitcom land Ringu style, messing with the title effects
btw this is a lot better than the other fake infomercial they did with the "salad shakers" which was truly awful
― Nhex, Sunday, 9 November 2014 23:27 (eleven years ago)
Knowing that this was played for half-awake adult swim fans at 4am is fantastic
Yeah, I could totally imagine it stirring people awake via repetition, dvd menu style.

Showed to Carl and Je55e. Not sure it was successful.
― Jeff, Monday, 10 November 2014 01:14 (eleven years ago)
The topless lady was great, but then after Machete Man killed everyone and took their places and popped up as the topless lady I fell out

― Stim McRaw (Noodle Vague), Monday, 10 November 2014 07:32 (eleven years ago)
I caught a similar vibe to the "Horse Apples" episode of Wonder Showzen, and so I assumed it was put together by the same guys who did WS, Delocated, Xaviar and The Heart She Holler. WRONG.
― billstevejim, Monday, 10 November 2014 08:12 (eleven years ago)
Nope, Squidbillies and Your Pretty Face Is Going To Hell, though.
― Nhex, Monday, 10 November 2014 08:19 (eleven years ago)
It doesn't remind me of Tim & Eric at all.
― billstevejim, Monday, 10 November 2014 09:05 (eleven years ago)
WS, Delocated, Xaviar and The Heart She Holler.
I've seen every episode of WS, Xavier, and Heartshe Holler, but I only ever watched the pilot of Delocated and it didn't grab me. I didn't actually realize it was also a PFFR thing until now. Does it get super weird? Do you guys love it?
(Oh - if it's relevant - I love the Tim & Eric stuff, unlike I guess you guys)

the best part is when the credits become the people and the people become the credits
― I dunno. (amateurist), Monday, 10 November 2014 12:54 (eleven years ago)

― tribe? de la? no "humpty dance?" (clouds), Monday, 10 November 2014 13:11 (eleven years ago)

It mostly made me wish I caught it accidentally at 4 am while on whatever drugs had me still up at 4 am because that would have been pretty amazing.
