I am taking a total departure from yesterday's black color scheme and am wearing both black and dark grey today: Dark grey ribbed turtleneck (for her pleasure, ha ha), black/grey plaid long skirt, grey tights, black boots (it's raining like mad outside and very dark), black hair pull back, white bra, pale green undies (ha ha, don't match my look at all, I'm so embarassed...).

Sarah McLusky (coco), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 13:55 (twenty-three years ago)

Looking forward to Brighton on Sunday in my black leather jacket and jeans with no underpants! Black corduory shirt and white socks (as usual).

David Botham (David Botham), Saturday, 8 February 2003 01:02 (twenty-three years ago)

party at my boyfriend's placce soon. Not that I'm "dressed up".

mid-blue trousers, long pink socks (hidden under the trousers and my plain black boots), black & white striped arm sleeves (used to be my socks), my beloved heavy silver&gold watch, black v-necked t-shirt, various tiny specks of toxic blue paint from ill-fated morning ceiling painting attempt, glasses.

Good luck in the rumble with the mods, David! :)

felicity (felicity), Saturday, 8 February 2003 01:48 (twenty-three years ago)

pink tshirt, green knickers.

minna (minna), Saturday, 8 February 2003 01:49 (twenty-three years ago)

Felicity - I am a mod! Today I'm in my Levi's Sta-Prest trousers again, the cream coloured ones (I think they used to call these "pewter"). Must get some red socks to go with these (like I used to wear to college). The shirt is check (unfortunately not Ben Sherman), and the socks are... white! Just fancy being a leatherboy tomorrow for a change. Have a good w/end all.

David Botham (David Botham), Saturday, 8 February 2003 11:18 (twenty-three years ago)

What sort of glasses, spectra? I am completely unable to recall you wearing any.

(uh, dragon-embroidered flares, "sportsgirl" tshirt, green legwarmers doing sock duty, some running shoes that my uncle ran a marathon in about a decade ago)

Ess Kay (esskay), Saturday, 8 February 2003 11:34 (twenty-three years ago)

brown socks, black jeans, black jumper, red and grey checked shirt. I match the weather today.

jel -- (jel), Saturday, 8 February 2003 13:12 (twenty-three years ago)

if I go out I'll wear my dark blue coat and my old school DM's, and probably take my blue cheap-o bag. I got no style.

jel -- (jel), Saturday, 8 February 2003 13:19 (twenty-three years ago)

a cream-coloured sweater (which ALWAYS smells funny even RIGHT after I have it washed), a pair of dirrrrty jeans (disintegrating at a steady and FAST level), gold coloured pumas and some jewellery

nathalie (nathalie), Saturday, 8 February 2003 13:45 (twenty-three years ago)

a black Escape from LA "Surf Wilshire" t-shirt.

where do I get one of these? oh wait, I don't wear t-shirts.

gabbneb (gabbneb), Saturday, 8 February 2003 16:41 (twenty-three years ago)

Black Joy Division tshirt as above, and HUGE GREY HOUSE PANTS! They are so big they fall off me. Hooray! Soon to be stained with Chinese food.

starry (Groke), Saturday, 8 February 2003 18:45 (twenty-three years ago)

I'd say I'm fashionably dressed in my "west coast small
town zero individuality" way. Long sleeve brown A&F shirt,
forwards red Nike hat (yeah, yeah, I know), and ripped
carpenter jeans. I don't really give a damn about how
I look, really, I just wear what women tell me to wear
(first my mother, then sisters, then girlfriends).

Squirrel_Police (Squirrel_Police), Saturday, 8 February 2003 18:50 (twenty-three years ago)

Squirrel_Police - I just have to ask, where did your nickname come from? (One of my favorite stories is "Squirrel Cop" from This American Life and your name made me laugh to recall the saga.)

Oh, and I wearing tan sweat pants, beige bra, black panties, and a blue tank-top. And glasses. And a hair-holder-backer thingy-ma-bobber.

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Saturday, 8 February 2003 20:33 (twenty-three years ago)

Someone called "I'm Passing Open Windows" is asking Squirrel_Police where his name is from? (i.e., how about you, Laura? I have half of a notion that it's a line I should recognise.)

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 8 February 2003 20:42 (twenty-three years ago)

*laughing* Okay Martin, here it goes...

It's from John Irving's The Hotel New Hampshire and refers to a story told by one of the character's about ... The King of the Mice, maybe? Anyway, the idea is that in this story, the person throws themself out an open window and falls to their death. And, in the family in the book, the phrase "Keep passing open windows" basically means "hang-in there, things will get better, don't off yourself just yet, etc." So it's my way of proclaiming "Hey, I really am okay, life is good."

(And one of my oldest Net-met friends, from the ol' Prodigy days, went by "SorrowFloats," another reference to the same book. So this is also a tribute to him, 'cause he's gone off into the wilds of Alaska and I've not heard from him in months.)

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Saturday, 8 February 2003 20:51 (twenty-three years ago)

boxer shorts and more body hair than i'd like.

mitch lastnamewithheld (mitchlnw), Saturday, 8 February 2003 21:04 (twenty-three years ago)

Um, I just gotta ask, Mitch - how much body hair is more than you'd like and do you remove it with a razor? Depilatory? Wax? Plucking? Or just mention it is passing so it excites all of those on here who have *things* for body hair? *grin*

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Saturday, 8 February 2003 21:13 (twenty-three years ago)

Re: Windows, there's not much of a story
I started on the Internet playing MUDS
(online text fantasy games) creating names for my characters,
so when I started posting to web and news it seemed natural
to adopt another persona. I posted occasionally under my
real name (Jack R*) but then started using various incongrous
animal names - Coon_Commando, Marmot_Marksman,
etc this one just seemed to stick.
OH yah, I also wear white jockeys, which suppposedly aren't
fashionable anymore, but *shrug*

Squirrel_Police (Squirrel_Police), Saturday, 8 February 2003 21:20 (twenty-three years ago)

Man - white socks (14th Jan) what else do you wear? Do you iron your socks? I do!!!

David Botham (David Botham), Sunday, 9 February 2003 09:14 (twenty-three years ago)

Red Vision Skateboard long sleeve top
Pink pyjama bottoms

toraneko (toraneko), Sunday, 9 February 2003 12:30 (twenty-three years ago)

mizz laura: well, it's not like CRAZY MAD body hair, just more than i'd like, but i'm choosing not to remove it. yet. if any hairlovers choose to be excited, so be it! for the nauseated, forget i said anything.

mitch lastnamewithheld (mitchlnw), Sunday, 9 February 2003 12:39 (twenty-three years ago)

same black jeans, same black jumper, blue socks, red shirt, blue fleecey thing, slippers! it feels cold today.

jel -- (jel), Sunday, 9 February 2003 13:27 (twenty-three years ago)

*laughing* Thanks for the explanation, Squirrel_Police (and I think white jockeys are just fine and sexy and all, so long as they're clean). If you ever get a chance and have the inclination, check out "http://www.thislife.org" and then do a search on "Squirrel Cop" and listen to the story - it will have you rolling on the floor.

*grin* Thanks for the clarification regarding your "CRAZY MAD body hair," mitch. I vote that you enjoy it - I think body hair is completely fascinating.

Oh, and as for my clothing - glasses, arm bandage, red satiny/silky pj top and navy blue panties and my ever-so-sexy red-green-black striped woolen socks.

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Sunday, 9 February 2003 21:36 (twenty-three years ago)

I have been wearing a hooded sweatshirt with the hood up all day. I think it makes me look hardcore or like an old lady. Maybe both.

bnw (bnw), Sunday, 9 February 2003 22:20 (twenty-three years ago)

hooded zip-up with built-in mittenlets
black wool cardi with mittenstraps
iconic indigo jeans
socks, shoes, etc.

felicity (felicity), Sunday, 9 February 2003 22:44 (twenty-three years ago)

mittenlets? are you making up words again?

bnw (bnw), Sunday, 9 February 2003 22:57 (twenty-three years ago)

mittenlets sound cute though! Could be the name for yet another Kindercore band.

jel -- (jel), Sunday, 9 February 2003 22:59 (twenty-three years ago)

all black, except blue T under my black sweater

mark s (mark s), Sunday, 9 February 2003 23:11 (twenty-three years ago)

mismatched socks, blue flared policeman pants, green and blue and white diamond-patterned short sleeved top with a tie around the middle, made from some marvellous synthetic fibre i'm sure.

di smith (lucylurex), Sunday, 9 February 2003 23:44 (twenty-three years ago)

you mean "mittenlet" is not in dictionary.com?

mittenlets:

Imagine the hand-coverings worn by the Artful Dodger and the cheerful dancing orphans in Oliver! or by streetcorner newspeople (covering to wrists and with thumbholes and open fingers; otherwise if they were like cycling gloves they would be glovelets) and then imagine they are connected to the sleeves of a pullover.

felicity (felicity), Sunday, 9 February 2003 23:48 (twenty-three years ago)

and should I really be taking writing commentary from Mr. "Unabomber" hoody sweatshirt? :P

felicity (felicity), Sunday, 9 February 2003 23:55 (twenty-three years ago)

You've just written yourself out of my manifesto, lady.

bnw (bnw), Monday, 10 February 2003 01:26 (twenty-three years ago)

Right now -- Sunday night -- green-toed white socks with a hole in the left heel, blue jeans (still verily in need of a rigorous laundering), boxers with a red and orange pattern on them, a white Iggy & the Stooges t-shirt (that's right, Corrs fans! The cover of METALLIC K.O, feautring an unconscious, reclining Iggy, K.O'd after someone chucked a camera onstage that thwacked him in the noggin,...if legend has it correctly), and a sever case of "hat-head" after wearing a baseball cap for the lion's share of the day.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 10 February 2003 03:49 (twenty-three years ago)

boxer shorts that are too small for me and a shirt with a big hole in it.

jess (dubplatestyle), Monday, 10 February 2003 03:53 (twenty-three years ago)

for a second there i thought the boxers had a hole in them & i was thinkin' "hey hey!"

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Monday, 10 February 2003 03:59 (twenty-three years ago)

jess (dubplatestyle), Monday, 10 February 2003 04:06 (twenty-three years ago)

jess (dubplatestyle), Monday, 10 February 2003 04:29 (twenty-three years ago)

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Monday, 10 February 2003 06:28 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm wearing a black shirt that says "Wild Thing" in a glittery blue cursive.

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Monday, 10 February 2003 06:37 (twenty-three years ago)

Maroon sweater. Plaid skirt. Grey tights. Snow boots. Pink bra. Pink, black and white undies with roses on them. Black hair pull back. My watch.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 10 February 2003 15:11 (twenty-three years ago)

either way too many clothes, or not enough. That's what I hate about this time of year, cos it's cold enough when you go outside to walk anywhere that you have to have sweaters and scarves and coats and things, but all the buildings are so overheated that you then need to peel all those layers off and are still hot in a long-sleeved t shirt or something.

or maybe I'm the only one and I'm having hot flushes or something...

Sophie (Sophie), Monday, 10 February 2003 15:40 (twenty-three years ago)

still naked.

jess (dubplatestyle), Monday, 10 February 2003 17:40 (twenty-three years ago)

Joining Jess in the nakedness arena (typing from the bath).

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Monday, 10 February 2003 21:30 (twenty-three years ago)

isn't that a bit dangerous?

mitch lastnamewithheld (mitchlnw), Monday, 10 February 2003 21:34 (twenty-three years ago)

yea i was gonna say

jess (dubplatestyle), Monday, 10 February 2003 21:40 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah, having a computer in the bath with you is not good planning.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 10 February 2003 21:56 (twenty-three years ago)

More Levis boot-cut cords, this time brown; argyle socks; new frou-frou boots cut vaguely like Cuban heels (I wasn’t even dreaming of buying them but they offered them to me for like two sticks of gum and a slice of bologna); white and blue G.I. Joe-logo ringer t-shirt thankfully covered by v-neck sweater (not that I don’t still love and support the men of G.I. Joe against the forces of C.O.B.R.A.); gold teeth, fur coat, champagne bottle, etc.

nabisco (nabisco), Monday, 10 February 2003 22:18 (twenty-three years ago)

*laughing* It's safely strapped to swiveling desktop (er, a REAL desktop, not a computer desktop).

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Monday, 10 February 2003 22:48 (twenty-three years ago)

nabisco players ball shocker!

felicity (felicity), Monday, 10 February 2003 23:48 (twenty-three years ago)
