I feel like such an old rockist right now but this is garbage

my brother, i have been trying to understand the fixation with trap music and the best i can do is presume their brains turn to mush whenever they hear an 808, or the mythic words 'mike will made it'

also those who can call a song with the lyrics 'come around to your house and fuck your ho' (paraphrase) the most 'euphorically romantic of recent years', but then with ilm you come to expect the unexpected, and woe betide anyone who doesn't sing about baking pies

I feel like I might be able to appreciate this stuff if I pretend it's some new and thought-provoking pc music concoction. but I really don't have the patience for that kind of thought experiment when the emceeing is 'rolling fuck this shit worst songs of 2015' caliber and the lyrics are just as abhorrent as meta/ironic commentary (if that's what ilm is rationalizing it as) as they are at face value.

but this thread is heading dangerously close to trenchant warfare so I'll just shrug and say it's not for me
