If anyone can defend a No vote on ballot proposals 2 and 3, i'm all ears. (All I can detect: legislators won't read electronic bills; the tech money is better spent elsewhere on schools, and only public ones.)

I think Prop 2 is just a bit of house keeping, something about how the countdown for how long they have to read a proposed bill before it comes to a vote will start from when the email is sent instead of when paper copies are distro'ed. Will prob result in legislators assigning a staffer to print it out for them as soon as the email comes through and that's assuming anyone was reading proposed legislation anyway.

A frustrated labor union source said that in the end, Cuomo is just being Cuomo.

That's actually why it's marginally meaningful, because Working Families is supposed to be this *insider progressive* party that works with the dems to make sure progressive issues get pushed (or just uses false promises to keep progressives from defecting away from the dems entirely, depending on how you look at it).

I mean with Cuomo winning 52-39, it's not of enormous significance, but in a closer D-R race, the number of progressives who vote for the dem on the Working Families line vs vote for a third party candidate could make the difference.

Cuomo's raw vote total is the lowest for a NY gov winner since FDR in 1930. (When we had a lot less people, if more voters.)
