Kind of makes me wonder if they just overproduced a couple of the models and still have a lot left? If they really need to still clear first gen iPad minis they should make it a bigger price difference from the 2 though. And honestly probably better off just quietly offering it through discount channels rather than making it part of a confusing five-tier product line.

I use iTunes a lot less now thanks to Spotify, but my impression is that it has gotten less and less usable.

Installed with no issues. Visual style is kind of jarring. Even though it's not that much different.

Continuity is working a little strange. I never know what is going to ring, my iPad/iPhone/iMac. And then I answered my iPad and it wouldn't hang up so I had to restart it.

Red icon probably down to feedback from users like me who are so short-sighted we kept clicking on the App Store icon for iTunes.

Aesthetically not very impressed with this update, haven't explored the functionality though.

Adjusting OK. If "no iTunes sidebar ever" is not mandatory, at least this feels like the best implementation of it.

otoh it all loaded ok on my mid-2007 iMac and safari seems faster, and iTunes and spotify still working fine - can't complain too much about the look.

as someone who has no "devices" (i.e. iPad, iPhone, etc.) and no interest in "the cloud" is there any especially good reason to install Yosemite on a 2009 MacBook Pro (currently running 10.6.8)?

i guess i should wait until it's been out for six months or more...

I don't use spotlight, but I can't see how it's that bad. It certainly wasn't great for me before, which is why I use Alfred.

just like last version if itunes, you can make it normal. Select "playlists" and it brings back the sidebar and select songs on the right and it looks like the same itunes as always.

how can I change my folders from that bright blue color though?

i am amazed that anyone installs a new version of the OS on opening day tbh!
