194 all out
― Herman G. Neuname, Thursday, 7 August 2008 16:07 (seventeen years ago)
Good times.
[Won last night so we're through to the semi-finals of the play-offs. Two juicy cover drives for four resulted in my top score for the season of 8. Out bowled having completely lost track of where the ball was. Bowled one and dropped a catch off my own bowling. Conceded rather a lot of extras. Good times.]

LOL
― Ed, Thursday, 7 August 2008 16:34 (seventeen years ago)
Haha, Channel 5 had the gall to reunite Harmison and Boycott, once so animated in another's offence! The kiss and make up ceremony as conducted by Sparky Nicholas. Dear me!

KP out
― Herman G. Neuname, Friday, 8 August 2008 14:49 (seventeen years ago)
Typical. He is incapable of doing anything without drama!
― Neil S, Friday, 8 August 2008 14:51 (seventeen years ago)
HOW DARE HE SACK HIM
― Just got offed, Friday, 8 August 2008 14:52 (seventeen years ago)
Seriously I can't get angry at a man who's just made a hundred but come on Kev, make some double tons.
― Jarlrmai, Friday, 8 August 2008 14:58 (seventeen years ago)
I'm not saying that's a bad thing! Flintoff is looking in the mood...
― Neil S, Friday, 8 August 2008 15:01 (seventeen years ago)
huge 6!
― Jarlrmai, Friday, 8 August 2008 15:17 (seventeen years ago)

Time for Broadys 1st century
― Jarlrmai, Friday, 8 August 2008 15:29 (seventeen years ago)
I'll venture to say we'll have a new keeper for the winter tour.
― Just got offed, Friday, 8 August 2008 15:40 (seventeen years ago)
Not gonna be much of a lead. Shocking stuff since KP got out
― Herman G. Neuname, Friday, 8 August 2008 16:25 (seventeen years ago)
Is Anderson finally going to get his first duck?
― Just got offed, Friday, 8 August 2008 16:28 (seventeen years ago)
useless cunts
― Herman G. Neuname, Friday, 8 August 2008 16:28 (seventeen years ago)
you can bet the sa opening partnership will soon rattle off the lead.
Can we have a teeny bit of positivity? Batting isn't that easy out there, and yr talking like a tabloid headline. Plus, Anderson's avoided the duck again!
― Just got offed, Friday, 8 August 2008 16:33 (seventeen years ago)
I mean there's no sophistication to your game analysis, it's always absolutes. A very immature mentality.
― Just got offed, Friday, 8 August 2008 16:34 (seventeen years ago)
Is that a joke or should I start Googling GIFs of pots and kettles?
― caek, Friday, 8 August 2008 16:53 (seventeen years ago)
Since when has my cricket analysis been comprised of non-jokey absolutes?
― Just got offed, Friday, 8 August 2008 16:55 (seventeen years ago)
I mean there aren't many topics on ILX where I consider myself to be an authority, hence I'm almost always content to defer to those of greater knowledge/experience. But, fuck, not cricket.
― Just got offed, Friday, 8 August 2008 17:01 (seventeen years ago)
No need to be calling people immature just because you disagree with them though.
― Neil S, Friday, 8 August 2008 17:02 (seventeen years ago)
It's not so much disagreement as exasperation at the whole "stupid cunts mess up again grumble grumble we're the worst team in the world" attitude that Mr. Neuname is espousing. He's not alone either. We don't know whether England will win this Test, but what's clear is that they are very much on top with a 100-run first-innings lead at least (more if Harmison keeps firing).
― Just got offed, Friday, 8 August 2008 17:04 (seventeen years ago)
But it's not "immature". Pessimistic perhaps, but not immature.
― Neil S, Friday, 8 August 2008 17:06 (seventeen years ago)
Yeah, I was more talking about
A very immature mentality. A very immature mentality. A very immature mentality. A very immature mentality. A very immature mentality.
and, to a lesser extent
it's always absolutes it's always absolutes it's always absolutes
― caek, Friday, 8 August 2008 17:15 (seventeen years ago)
Yeah, and I was only talking about those things in a cricketing context. You're a little guilty of ad hominem in this case, caek.
― Just got offed, Friday, 8 August 2008 17:21 (seventeen years ago)
Harmison misses a 50 in the most predictable manner imaginable. Monty really is the biggest spacker in the universe. Bastards. String 'em up.
― Just got offed, Friday, 8 August 2008 17:27 (seventeen years ago)
Not Panesar's fault that Harmison was desperate to get his 50.
― Neil S, Friday, 8 August 2008 17:32 (seventeen years ago)
They should both be hung from the players' balcony.
― Just got offed, Friday, 8 August 2008 17:35 (seventeen years ago)
Anderson, OTOH, should be knighted forthwith.
― Just got offed, Friday, 8 August 2008 17:36 (seventeen years ago)
Doing a Hoggard v Hayden on Smith!
― Neil S, Friday, 8 August 2008 17:38 (seventeen years ago)
Yeah, and I was only talking about those things in a cricketing context.
Try not to tell people they deal in absolutes and are immature in any context. This is good advice for anyone. (It's particularly good advice for you, so I guess that makes it an ad hominem.)
― caek, Friday, 8 August 2008 22:22 (seventeen years ago)
251-7, new ball, no second slip for de villiers and anderson swings one and it goes straight to where 2nd slip wouldve been.
― Herman G. Neuname, Sunday, 10 August 2008 14:28 (seventeen years ago)
Kerr, Tom D, yr team is shite
― Just got offed, Monday, 18 August 2008 11:56 (seventeen years ago)
Trescothick = cheat. Yep.
― SeekAltRoute, Monday, 25 August 2008 09:33 (seventeen years ago)
A great player - I'm glad he seems to be happier now. We could really do with some Tresco-like performances from our current openers in the coming year.
― xyzzzz__, Monday, 25 August 2008 11:16 (seventeen years ago)
haha wtf 84 all out and I missed it!

83 all out actually and Nel was the top scorer with 13. England 77-0. The games gonna be over in 40 overs. I don't suppose the crowd will mind.
― Herman G. Neuname, Tuesday, 26 August 2008 16:31 (seventeen years ago)
37.1 overs all in. 10 wkt win
― Herman G. Neuname, Tuesday, 26 August 2008 16:37 (seventeen years ago)
As someone on the BBC text commentary said, they could have that 20-20 game now!
― Neil S, Tuesday, 26 August 2008 16:40 (seventeen years ago)
So freakish one-off, or a brave new dawn for English cricket? I'm thinking the former...
― Neil S, Tuesday, 26 August 2008 16:42 (seventeen years ago)
it's just nice to not be on the receiving end of a result like this for a change.
― Herman G. Neuname, Tuesday, 26 August 2008 17:06 (seventeen years ago)
well done matt prior for his 6 catches and one of them was spectacular to say the least.
― Herman G. Neuname, Tuesday, 26 August 2008 17:08 (seventeen years ago)
SA just haven't turned up since going 2-0 up in test series.
