lag∞n, Thursday, 25 September 2014 00:17 (eleven years ago)

It's a good blue

I have the white 6 silicone case so it kind of looks like a big old 5c

⌘-B (mh), Thursday, 25 September 2014 00:25 (eleven years ago)

I want a bendy phone but not a bent iPhone

Spirit of Match Game '76 (silby), Thursday, 25 September 2014 00:34 (eleven years ago)

Spirit of Match Game '76 (silby), Thursday, 25 September 2014 00:34 (eleven years ago)

Same guy bending an assortment of other phones. The iPhone 6 bends only a little, considerably less than the 6 Plus. Likewise a few other similarly-sized phones, except the Moto X which is unusually sturdy. An iPhone 5S wouldn't bend at all. So basically, big phones bend easier than small phones. Shocker.

the thinness is unnecessary and everyone thinks this except apple, it seems. also i imagine that the rounded edges allow things to be bent more easily than squared ones.

Acting Crazy (Instrumental) (jed_), Thursday, 25 September 2014 13:31 (eleven years ago)

most pointless post ever^

Acting Crazy (Instrumental) (jed_), Thursday, 25 September 2014 13:32 (eleven years ago)

I really like the thinness

Just ordered an i-pod air 16g and a Ballistic Tough Jacket Case Cover for my son's main christmas pressie, if he fucking bends it he isn't getting another. Please someone on this thread don't tell me it is shit because I am weeping at my bank balance right now.

iPad Air's are pretty tough ime

, Thursday, 25 September 2014 23:46 (eleven years ago)

Oh good! just having an irrational panic attack!

xelab, Thursday, 25 September 2014 23:51 (eleven years ago)

I would explain how I know how tough iPads are, but I overstate my secret shames often enough here

Just don't put an unprotected one on the couch near a cat prone to launching around the room at high velocity

⌘-B (mh), Thursday, 25 September 2014 23:53 (eleven years ago)

You could also try getting it insured by a third party warranty provider like Squaretrade - they'll probably have an Accidental Damage option

, Thursday, 25 September 2014 23:54 (eleven years ago)

http://www.squaretrade.co.uk/uk-ipad

Looks like it covers accidental damage by default

, Thursday, 25 September 2014 23:55 (eleven years ago)

oh wow look we have a thread about apple

markers, Thursday, 25 September 2014 23:56 (eleven years ago)

seeing headlines about a possible event next month. i don't see what they're going to release that would pack anything near the punch of what they announced earlier this month, which makes it look like it's going to be a year with a killer wwdc and a really solid september event and then . . . a revision to the ipad and perhaps some mac mini shit? that's what i've seen. i guess the release of yosemite too, but do we really need to talk about that again at this point?

markers, Friday, 26 September 2014 00:11 (eleven years ago)

it's been a big year for the company, especially when you put it next to what's happen since steve died, and they should end it on a high note

markers, Friday, 26 September 2014 00:11 (eleven years ago)

Yosemite should never be spoken of again. It's like a bad Linux theme from 2003, with worse font rendering.

stet, Friday, 26 September 2014 00:15 (eleven years ago)

sounds good

lag∞n, Friday, 26 September 2014 00:22 (eleven years ago)

How's it look on retina? xp

, Friday, 26 September 2014 00:25 (eleven years ago)

mere seconds/minutes from now my mini will be on 8.0.2

markers, Friday, 26 September 2014 00:26 (eleven years ago)

Should I chance upping to 8.0.2 while on vacation?

Jeff, Friday, 26 September 2014 00:29 (eleven years ago)

have spent seriously half an hour today trying to deal with the iMessage group chat fallout from two of my friends getting new phones and assorted OS upgrades. We are getting forked chats and blackholed messages, but nobody sees the same thing.

Spirit of Match Game '76 (silby), Friday, 26 September 2014 00:29 (eleven years ago)
