he's playing here on saturday & leaf & I are trying to decide if we should go.

sweet tater, Friday, 14 September 2007 18:53 (eighteen years ago)

I would. He's a pretty amazing mc. I saw him at an in-store a couple-few years ago. It was tiny and cramped, but very very good.

kenan, Friday, 14 September 2007 18:56 (eighteen years ago)

I had bulgogi for lunch.

Jesse, Friday, 14 September 2007 19:03 (eighteen years ago)

I had beef with sweet green beans and peanuts. One of the agents bought the marketing department lunch at Big Bowl. It was pretty good!

kenan, Friday, 14 September 2007 19:05 (eighteen years ago)

bulgogi apparatus

dan m, Friday, 14 September 2007 19:05 (eighteen years ago)

Where's he playing, Kelsey?

Jordan, Friday, 14 September 2007 19:05 (eighteen years ago)

dan, so is that the kind of thing people will be dancing at? sounds kind of fun. but not sure how it would match up with gig at empty bottle.

colette, Friday, 14 September 2007 19:14 (eighteen years ago)

I assume there will be dancing, yes. The way it was described to me was "if you want to dance, people will be, but if you just want to hang out that is very easy too". It's not like a club thing, I don't think.

dan m, Friday, 14 September 2007 19:23 (eighteen years ago)

Really we're just going to support our friend. I am not much of a dancer!

dan m, Friday, 14 September 2007 19:24 (eighteen years ago)

first avenue, Jordan.

sweet tater, Friday, 14 September 2007 19:25 (eighteen years ago)

where is everyone? i'm bored.

colette, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:31 (eighteen years ago)

I just ate a piece of going-away party cake that may have been more frosting than actual cake. Grossssssssss

dan m, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:35 (eighteen years ago)

longest day ever

Jordan, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:35 (eighteen years ago)

I like First Ave

Jordan, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:35 (eighteen years ago)

I think I want to convince Nick to go to the xipp0 dj event, but he probably won't want to since he's gung ho about that bottle show.

KitCat, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:36 (eighteen years ago)

douchebottle show

Jordan, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:38 (eighteen years ago)

totally

KitCat, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:40 (eighteen years ago)

yeah, I can't believe I still have an hour and 20 minutes here. I just want to go home and listen to music and play SimCity 2000 and not think about anything anymore.

kenan, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:42 (eighteen years ago)

i should have toby take nick to the gig instead of me, and then we could go to the DJ thing, which i suspect i'd like more.

colette, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:42 (eighteen years ago)

I go through phases with SimCity 2000, and I have off and on since it came out in 1995. I'll forget about it for months and months, then obsessive build cities for weeks and weeks. Rinse, repeat.

kenan, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:43 (eighteen years ago)

i think i went through a period where i was addicted to simcity 2000 in like 1998 or so, on a trip to san diego where i got sick and had to hang out in the hotel a lot.

colette, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:45 (eighteen years ago)

we're going here tonight

"Chicago’s only bar with grape soda on the gun"

Jesse, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:46 (eighteen years ago)

sarah, have you been to this crafts fair thingy that's tomorrow? is it fun? i kind of want to go, but also want to go to the wine fest that's in old town AND we need to hit the farmers markets. i wonder if all three is too much for one afternoon.

colette, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:46 (eighteen years ago)

I cheat. I need all the money in the world so I can build anything I want. I enjoy planning neighborhoods and urban centers and parks and public transportation... I don't want to have to manage money, too.

kenan, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:46 (eighteen years ago)

xxp OK SURE TONIGHT YOU WILL GO TO THE WEST SIDE

dan m, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:47 (eighteen years ago)

I love the Clipper.

horseshoe, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:47 (eighteen years ago)

The guy who invited us said you can get off at California Blue line, but you'd have to walk since there are NO CABS AROUND HERE.

Jesse, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:48 (eighteen years ago)

here comes courtney

Jesse, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:49 (eighteen years ago)

There are no cabs anywhere in Logan Square. It's weird.

kenan, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:49 (eighteen years ago)

Colette - Yes, I've been a couple times at least or maybe I'm just confusing a few different craft fairs... but I've definitely been to this one when it was in the park. It is fun, especially at first, though in the end many people are making the exact same things (ie: yet another stall with homemade pocket mirrors or weird dolls in the same style). It's worth going I'd say over all. I'm a little worried though that it's all on the sidewalk this year, since it took up a large part of wicker park last year, but we'll see...

KitCat, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:50 (eighteen years ago)

Is that neighborhood actually DANGEROUS? I am a little wary of walking places these days b/c of all the shootings in my hood. It's got me on edge. And I hear that the Clipper is in a scary area.

Jesse, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:51 (eighteen years ago)

I still want to know who takes a cab to and away from a shooting.

Jesse, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:52 (eighteen years ago)

I got shot down by the Clipper one time.

dan m, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:54 (eighteen years ago)

You know... down there.

dan m, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:55 (eighteen years ago)

bang bang / the clipper shot me down

kenan, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:55 (eighteen years ago)

Wouldn't it be a pretty long walk from the California blue line stop to the California Clipper? Like, several miles?

n/a, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:55 (eighteen years ago)

nick otm -- it's almost like walking from Fullerton to Chicago. And yes, some of that walk will not be in the finest neighborhood.

kenan, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:58 (eighteen years ago)

California Blue line stop is at 2300 N. California, California Clipper is at 1002 N. California, so have fun walking 13 blocks.

n/a, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:58 (eighteen years ago)

Is there a California bus? You could hop on that maybe.

n/a, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:59 (eighteen years ago)

Ha ha I guess Jesse's gone now since he just posted that Courtney was there. Should I call and warn him?

n/a, Friday, 14 September 2007 20:59 (eighteen years ago)

The Clipper, you'll recall, is where me and Kenan first met Nick and Sarah.

jaymc, Friday, 14 September 2007 21:00 (eighteen years ago)

Oh I recall. I like that place.

n/a, Friday, 14 September 2007 21:01 (eighteen years ago)

1000 N. California is squarely in Humboldt Park. Looks like about a mile and a half walk from the Blue Line. I wouldn't be worried about walking there, though I might not walk back late at night. The HP always has people out and about and California is a fairly well-traveled street.

sisut, Friday, 14 September 2007 21:02 (eighteen years ago)

There is a California bus, but it hops back and forth between Cali and Kedzie. Dunno if it goes by the bar.

dan m, Friday, 14 September 2007 21:02 (eighteen years ago)

No, i'm here. i meant here comes courtney, lurking on the thread.

Jesse, Friday, 14 September 2007 21:02 (eighteen years ago)

nick's on the phone with me.

he says hi.

Jesse, Friday, 14 September 2007 21:03 (eighteen years ago)

he's asking if i'm typing that we're on the phone.

Jesse, Friday, 14 September 2007 21:03 (eighteen years ago)

Captain Save-A-Jesse

n/a, Friday, 14 September 2007 21:05 (eighteen years ago)

Nick said, "OH NOEZ PUERTO RICANS!!!"

Jesse, Friday, 14 September 2007 21:06 (eighteen years ago)

What are we saving Jesse from? 13 blocks of walking?

sisut, Friday, 14 September 2007 21:06 (eighteen years ago)
