imgur is good and very easy but images expire unless you have a pro account

oooooh, i didn't realize - i thought they just stayed up no matter what. i just checked imgur's FAQ and it says "As long as images are getting at least 1 view every 6 months, they will stick around forever." so that's decent, but i guess if you have a thread that doesn't get revived for several months/years (aka most of my threads) the images would disappear on occasion. bummer!

ilx cld have a script that views dormant threads every few months

ilx could just hire someone to do it. i, for example, would gladly go through dormant threads in a systematic fashion in order to make sure that the imgur images don't get deleted. someone's gotta do it...

ok but just to put all my cards on the table i'm going to be asking for funding for coffee and chips and salsa as well. funding these important food groups will pay for itself in the form of my increased dormant thread reviving productivity

maybe i'll just make it so that the reward for the fundraising target is that i do the job sort of and complain a bunch, but if the stretch goal is reached and i get the chips & salsa and coffee than i don't complain so much as i'm doing it

Sorry. Missed this. FP is currently working as intended. People flag posts, mods check them out. If a poster is WAY out of line we try to intervene, but I think we keep it fairly hands-off these days. On most days we get a large handful of FPs, but only rarely do they seem to indicate a serious problem with an individual poster or post. No one is currently even remotely close to being 51'd. That's what I was presuming you meant about FP being "turned off".

Those who regularly erroneously flag posts purely due to dislike of a poster should therefore be temp banned. The resultant loss of twattish posters I'm sure would appease darraghmac.
