DJP, my wife wants to know if buns and roses was a real place

EZ Snappin, Monday, 14 July 2014 20:21 (eleven years ago)

I regret that I was never old enough to go there before it closed.

I also regret that I would've been going for the roses.

My mom lives in vadnais heights so I see a lot of meat raffle notices on the bars around there yeah. I have yet to partake of the experience myself. Just as when I was a child I never got to find out what the fuck a booya was.

Neil Sekada (Jon Lewis), Monday, 14 July 2014 20:40 (eleven years ago)

bacon night is no more, sadly

Definitely in the plans. Probably Wednesday

EZ Snappin, Monday, 14 July 2014 21:47 (eleven years ago)

My mother has a knack for turning up randomly at meat raffles in the suburban burger taverns between Maple Grove and Big Lake, where she pisses off the regulars by generally winning more than half of the raffle prizes.

four weeks pass...

Annnnnd I'm at my Mom's. When we arrived she was watching Polka Spotlight on TV featuring Rod Cerar and his marauding polka combo. Rod Cerar just explained MIDI to a bunch of 80 year old Twin Cities poles. It lets him make his accordion sound like a banjo-- or anything he wants!!!

So good to be back. We have a sprawling 13 days here.

goole, Wednesday, 19 November 2014 18:54 (eleven years ago)

maybe it's the kind of humor where if you just keep repeating 'grape salad' enough times it will become funny in a way you never imagined possible

j., Wednesday, 19 November 2014 19:08 (eleven years ago)

My mother makes a shrimp and egg-salad 'salad' with spring onions and grapes in it. It's VERY Minnesota, but it is not the named salad.

resting rich face (suzy), Wednesday, 19 November 2014 19:28 (eleven years ago)

very Edina maybe

i did it all for the 'nuki (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Wednesday, 19 November 2014 22:32 (eleven years ago)

There's also a tuna variant, for those of you who haven't thought about throwing up already.

My mother would rip the nuts off any man who suggested she was from *spits* Edina.

resting rich face (suzy), Wednesday, 19 November 2014 22:47 (eleven years ago)

My mom's summer picnic go-to is a tuna salad with shell pasta, cheddar cheese, some salad vegetables, and halved grapes. It's seriously not bad at all.

Orson Wellies (in orbit), Wednesday, 19 November 2014 22:53 (eleven years ago)

Xpost listen I'm sure yr mom is nice but if you don't want ppl to think yr from Edina stop making luxurious shrimp salads

i did it all for the 'nuki (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Thursday, 20 November 2014 00:29 (eleven years ago)
