Best World Cup ever but pogba best young player and messi best player are completely disconnected from reality and seem like they could have been decided before a ball was kicked. Those two decisions irritate me to fuck but I'll try and not let them take the shine off things.

Pogba was favorite for this before the tournament and apart from his goal had a pretty quiet one otherwise, seems like he got it just for turning up and heading one in.

Varane's been unlucky this tournament. Depay did great but was never in the starting 11. Pogba was, scored a header too. I guess it's simple deduction. Indeed, they could've given this to Pogba on forehand.

Deems, it's not a joke to choose Messi, but surely both Muller and Robben have been way more on form in most of their matches than Messi. But Messi got to the final, which seems to be what counts.

god knows I love Robben but in the end his contribution was about as peripheral as Messi's. Mueller perhaps suffers by dint of his team being so much stronger as a whole. i agree with Darragh that Messi's done more than nothing at this tournament but Golden Ball shd be a feeling and he hasn't produced it
