mattresslessness, Wednesday, 9 July 2014 20:50 (twelve years ago)

hoax, dehoaxed - the 33 million fetuses didn't die - they all live in the outskirts of tallahassee

Karl Malone, Wednesday, 9 July 2014 21:04 (twelve years ago)

was hoping Crabbits' story was going down some zombie fetus path, but I guess you can't win them all

odd proggy geezer (Moodles), Wednesday, 9 July 2014 21:10 (twelve years ago)

when i was in middle school, a friend and I snuck out in the middle of the night, went to one of those churches with the tiny crosses, and turned a bunch of them upside-down.

Someday my dad is going to die, and I'll see something that uses the odious word "illegals," and I'll start crying because it reminds me of my dear old dead dad.

when you call my name it's like a prickly pear (Crabbits), Wednesday, 9 July 2014 23:42 (twelve years ago)

it was really sad to see on the facebook feed of the person who shared it (it's one of those things with 100K+ shares because everyone in this country is a monster). he was a high school friend, the nicest person of all time, hilarious, and supremely musically talented. he was a bass in choir, but he could also sing soprano and falsetto better than any girl. he was amazing. we roomed together on a trip to the state music festival, along with my future brother-in-law. we were all complete introverts and terrified of talking to girls, and we stayed up late talking in the dark like it was the 1950s. Greg asked Andy who his dream girl was, and Andy, after a long awkward pause, answered that is was my sister. a few years later Andy married her.

Greg was always super religious but not in a very wholesome way. he never said mean things about anyone and didn't say bad words or make dick jokes. but he was also friends with the gay guys in color guard and didn't appear to be hateful. a few years later i heard that he had gone to b0b jon3s university on a music/pastor major, and now he preaches at a church. and magically, over the last few years these crazy ass things have started to appear on his facebook feed. not trying to hate on christianity too much, and i recognize that plenty of non-spiritual people also are racists and hate "illegals", but greg really didn't used to be this way and it's hard not to attribute his descent into xenophobic hate to the people he chooses to hang out, namely christian fundamentalists

ugh, i'm the worst, i meant:

mattresslessness, Thursday, 10 July 2014 19:46 (twelve years ago)

makes the nicest, sweetest boys you ever met turn into asshole guardians of the race and republic.

mattresslessness, Thursday, 10 July 2014 19:48 (twelve years ago)

It's that use of the word 'illegals'. Can't even be bothered saying 'illegal immigrant' because that suggests the person has come from somewhere, which suggests they have a human life

cardamon, Thursday, 10 July 2014 19:59 (twelve years ago)

even axl said 'immigrants'

j., Thursday, 10 July 2014 21:03 (twelve years ago)

Probably because he wasn't even fond of the legal ones.

pplains, Thursday, 10 July 2014 21:08 (twelve years ago)

Wha?

Johnny Fever, Friday, 11 July 2014 01:11 (twelve years ago)

this PSA announcing the agreement of the white house legislation is brought to you by abc news

Karl Malone, Friday, 11 July 2014 01:19 (twelve years ago)

why are these always such weirdly terrible quality, like someone took a photo of a screen and then applied compression algorithms to it 20 times

socki (s1ocki), Friday, 11 July 2014 04:41 (twelve years ago)

i wouldnt even really know HOW to make something look that bad

socki (s1ocki), Friday, 11 July 2014 04:41 (twelve years ago)

There has been controversy whether 21 is too young to make something look that bad.

Doctor Casino, Friday, 11 July 2014 04:57 (twelve years ago)

I'm going to come after you the day I slip up and say that instead during a department meeting.

A co-worker of mine posted this:

https://scontent-b-iad.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xfp1/t1.0-9/10513384_10101178806988347_4422837923323246285_n.jpg

And got a hosannah of "Ain't that the truth!" posts and likes. I sure don't remember getting any more sleep than my wife did during those early months, so I posted "Boo this!"

But now, seeing my one male voice in this sea of "So true!" posts, I realize it looks like I'm Booing the practice of the husband sleeping more rather than Booing the sentiment of the statement made in the first place.

Why am I still on this website.

I don't disagree with that jpeg and yet I hate it so much.

Except the part about how we're all pretending we don't have a choice. That was clearly written by someone who doesn't pay his own bills.

something about all-text image macros just makes me want to disagree with them.
