Thought Henderson was England's best player by some distance so was surprised when he came off.

Gerrard got the benefit of the argument for years in the Fat Frank debate that they just couldn't play together. Now it turns out he can't play in an England shirt with a guy from the same club side as him. One common factor in him not being able to play well there.

Gerrard's comedy assist to Ba pretty much killed Liverpool's title challenge. He just isn't aware or intelligent enough to play a holding midfield role at the highest level.

I know he and Henderson looked good together for Liverpool in one of the weakest Premiership seasons but England needed either a midfield that could protect the back four or adequately set up the attack and instead they had neither. This isn't Hodgson's fault or Gerrard's really, the players just aren't there.

Gerrard has ended up as DM for no other reason than his legs aren't up to playing anywhere else any more and he's built up an undroppable aura. The difference between England and Liverpool is that his Hollywood balls don't work for England - but mysteriously worked for Uruguay so Suarez could run on to them.

It's almost like there are different teams and you should pick a side based on what's in front of you.
