I'm not playing any games on RHP right now! They all ended. I've been playing on FICS, though, and having a pretty good day of it.

I don't know what the moral is, though.

Ken surely we are going to have to call our game a draw?

Casuistry & Ken C - hopefully we can get our games finished by Friday morning. If not, please don't kill me on the timeout - I'll be back at some point.

1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bb5 a6 4. Ba4 b5 5. Bb3 Nf6 6. Bd5 h6? {This move just seems to waste time, my bishop isn't even able to move yet!} 7. Nxe5 Qe7 8. Nxc6 Qc5 9. Na5 c6 10. d4 Qb4+ 11. Bd2 Qxd4 12. Nxc6 Qxb2 13. Bc3! {And now black queen is trapped -- no matter where it moves, it will be taken the next turn, not even Bb4 would help (and no, I didn't realize this until after I had moved).} Qxa1 14. Bxa1 Bb7 15. Na5 Bxd5 16. exd5 Bb4+ 17. Bc3 Bxc3+ 18. Nxc3 O-O 19. d6 Rae8+ 20. Ne2 Ne4 21. O-O Re6 22. Nb7 Rb8 23. f3 Rxb7 24. fxe4 Rxe4 25. Qd5 Rxe2 26. Qxb7 Rxc2 27. Qxd7 Rxa2 28. Qd8+ Kh7 29. d7 Rd2 30. Rxf7 b4 31. Qa5 Rd1+ 32. Kf2 b3 33. d8=Q Rxd8 34. Qxd8 b2 35. Qd3+ Kg8 36. Qg6{Black forfeits on time} 1-0
He could have had the satisfaction of b1=Q but it would still have been Qxg7# the next move -- there was no way to avoid that.
I'm sure my opening idea, of grabbing his rook with the bishop, could have been defeated otherwise, but I think this is why that 4...b5 is discouraged.
