You don't have to be that guy. You can be whoever you want to be.

socki (s1ocki), Monday, 2 June 2014 21:12 (twelve years ago)

(not implying that there isnt anything good about it, i just dont know from programming)

socki (s1ocki), Monday, 2 June 2014 21:13 (twelve years ago)

so spooked that the Mac on Apple's homepage is showing the Heath Ceramics website, which I was just looking at last nite for only the second time in my life. My first thought was that Apple was sniffing my browser history or something....

3rd-party installable keyboards - so I can finally get an extra row of keys so i'm not constantly flipping between letters/numbers/symbols?

Lee626, Monday, 2 June 2014 21:17 (twelve years ago)

Genuinely excited about Swift.

Elvis Telecom, Monday, 2 June 2014 21:23 (twelve years ago)

whats good about swift

it's a modern language with a lot of nice features

but what people are really excited about is the prospect of NOT using objective-c for mac/ios development, obj-c being a very odd and verbose language

diamonddave85‌ (diamonddave85), Monday, 2 June 2014 21:38 (twelve years ago)

Heath ceramics makes nice stuff ime

a strange man (mh), Monday, 2 June 2014 21:55 (twelve years ago)

I like Objective-C, but Swift looks like it keeps the stuff I like and I never have to see that fucking block syntax again

stet, Monday, 2 June 2014 23:13 (twelve years ago)

there's a chance i'll be learning it, so there's that. got the ibook.

markers, Tuesday, 3 June 2014 02:01 (twelve years ago)

With markers I'm not sure if he's excited about Taylor or the code

, Tuesday, 3 June 2014 02:28 (twelve years ago)

that's an odd way to refer to someone who's right here

anyway, i made a taylor swift "joke"/reference/whatever on fb, but i'm not sure who got it. with that being said, there's a chance i might actually teach myself this. i'm reading ben horowitz's book about startups right now, but after that's over, or perhaps at some other point, i might dive into the documentation

markers, Tuesday, 3 June 2014 03:10 (twelve years ago)

Hah I just couldn't find an appropriate post of yours to quote thasall

Lee626, Tuesday, 3 June 2014 13:34 (twelve years ago)

anyone install the ios8 beta? I've put it on a spare ipad, and it crashed when I try to move or delete apps. Wondering if the phone is the same?

sofatruck, Tuesday, 3 June 2014 16:41 (twelve years ago)

Super-beta at the moment. Wouldn't use it for anything other than code testing right now.

Elvis Telecom, Wednesday, 4 June 2014 06:20 (twelve years ago)

for some reason I was enthusiastic and installed 10.10 yesterday. not bad! some visual glitches, though. the menu bar text disappeared completely and it failed to show the right app name a couple times.

a strange man (mh), Wednesday, 4 June 2014 13:58 (twelve years ago)

if you put any of that shit on your primary device, you're nuts

markers, Wednesday, 4 June 2014 14:12 (twelve years ago)

markers, Wednesday, 4 June 2014 14:13 (twelve years ago)

I guess my laptop isn't really my primary anymore! But yeah, I have backups out the wazoo.
