status update: shitfaced. need to obtain late night tacos

drinking a six pack, listening to the talking heads, and playing dark souls 2. could be better, could be worse.

jerks at the bar gave me shots. jerks.

I didn't get to Deadwood, gonna have to do it this morning while packing.

Went to the Mt Wilson Observatory, saw a few things through the 60" telescope. Saw Jupiter, Mars, Saturn, the entire Sombrero galaxy (M104), a globular cluster (M3), and the Cat's Eye nebula.

Only Saturn seemed like it would turn out on my point-and-shoot, so it's the only one I attempted (held right up to the eyepiece). It looked much more distinct in person, I could see streaks on its surface and a black band separating the sections of the rings. Seeing Sombrero was the most impressive - an entire galaxy in the view of my puny eye.

So, not boring at all, but usually it is.

i've got to look at some ipad app stuff, eat some munchos and wheat thins with peanut butter, and probably do other shit too

Just bought some groceries which we'll put on June's budget bc we are over in may. Enjoying a midday PBR while doing dishes. Plan to run some simulations later.

got a haircut, walked around the beverly center, went to cinefamily for the unarius public access films (jello biafra was co-moderator).

using amazon cloud player to download all the albums I've bought over the years to my computer. I don't know why, I could just play them using the cloud player.

I'm also watching justified s1, it's pretty fun. Never seen deadwood. What I keep thinking tho is "this is gonna get ruined by 'arcs', isn't it"

I recently rewatched S3 and enjoyed it a lot more than the first viewing during which I missed the odd ep and was a bit meh. The maverick villain George Hearst character is so despicably brilliant, he runs roughshod over Al + Cy and when he sends his henchman for a fight to the death with Dan in probably the most brutal fight scene ever. Oh and Cox constantly hamming is just beautiful. It is a dreadful business that this got bumped when it was showing no lag and still full of potential.

Hearst is a fascinating villain to me, so full of contradictions & violence

Last time we rewatched deadwood, kind of disappointed in season 3. Mainly because I knew how unresolved it would end, so I just was sad the whole time.

But I think my favorite parts of deadwood is how psychotic Cy is.

Last sat. nite was great though - impromptu jam session in our backyard. I'm moving soon, and will miss living someplace where you do such things and get away with it.
