You need to decide whether you can live with him this way for the rest of your life. If you can't, then you have to decide where your cut-off point is. Then you have to make it absolutely clear to your husband where that cut-off point is and how much or how little you'll support him in making better choices and following through on them - but if he fails to make better choices, you'll cut him off. Then you have to act like you meant every word. That takes enormous strength - after all, you love him.

i feel so bad for these little kids going to the hospital after eating chocolate or gummies. they must be so scared.
i actually prefer buying edibles that are just pills. and something that a kid would never eat. i don't need the sugar or some great snack. they sell so much ice cream and seltzer at the one local place here. i just need the goods.

I think it's really interesting that so many people say they can't tell the diff between strains. I wonder if it's because there are a lot of hybrids?
Not just a lot of hybrids, it’s all hybrid, it’s a distinction that doesn’t really exist.

yeah its kind of amusing to me that so much focus seems to be put on the flavors of edibles or all the different types of snacks you can get THC in, I mean I get the novelty of it but like the chocolate bars and rice crispy treats all seem so silly to me. gummies are good because they don't break apart or melt, the other stuff its like...just get high and get yourself a real snack, something that actually tastes good
that said I do dig the THC drinks a lot, especially as someone who likes to go out but tries to cut back on alcohol. they sell this THC syrup now which is super potent (I have to use the children's Tylenol syrenge, which makes me feel a bit like a degenerate) and you can mix it into all sorts of stuff. you can make Moscow Mules with it, or old fashioneds, or combine it with lemonade and iced tea and an energy drink and maybe a shot of rum if you're really looking for a good time

That is correct. She turns 13 next week. Nice spreadsheet, ENBB ;) And my son is 19 and pursuing a freaking pilot's license.
I'm increasingly nervous about drugs about as my daughter gets older. When our son sprang his teenage drug problems on us, it came as a surprise. We thought that we had given him a reasonable discussion about drugs before he started using them, but it wasn't nearly enough. He and his buddies were into dabbing and getting blackout drunk and taking large quantities of acid and he was just a real mess for a few years. He's evened out now, just smoking flower and mostly just drinking beer. So I've gotta have a more serious, open conversation with my daughter about drugs before they make their way into her orbit, but I'm concerned about getting the right messages across.
― peace, man, Thursday, 5 October 2023 17:09 (eleven months ago) link

this is what I get, it's great, I usually just put it in orange juice & sparkling water, but it's also good if I come home from a night out and I'm drunk and want another beer but don't want to stay up all night so I put some in the beer (sometimes I stay up anyway but I drink less beer if I do so it's still better for me)

― scott seward, Thursday, 5 October 2023 18:36 (eleven months ago) link
In the end, imo it doesn't matter if any of these (really well packaged!) products actually provide the precise promised/desired effects as long as the person taking them thinks they do. This stuff is pretty hard to quantify, especially (after so many years of suppression) with little research to back up any specific claims. Iirc one of the factors hampering federal legalization is the sheer number of compounds in cannabis, close to 500, some 70 or so of them psychoactive, and few of them studied in isolation.

I think the only solution is to time is so you're not high at all when you go to sleep, it's the sleep cycle disruption that gives you a weed hangover as I understand it.
― papal hotwife (milo z), Thursday, 5 October 2023 21:56 (eleven months ago) link
Yeah, I was going to say that for me the fog is worse the later in the night the consumption happens. Similar to alcohol, really. The closer you are to sober by bedtime, the better you'll feel in the morning. Of course, if you partly like weed to help fall asleep — hi there! — then the timing gets a little tricky. But for me it's rarely that big a deal, I'm sure it varies a lot by person — like everything with weed.

Whenever I take anything to help sleep, it's usually right before bed, so I generally don't get any effects (that I know of) besides a good night's rest. Only challenge comes when the cat wakes me up in the middle of the night and demands a very groggy escort to the food dish. He's lucky I haven't stepped on him, I'm lucky I haven't fallen down the stairs.
