a one-bedroom rental in the Maximilian, whose amenities include a gym, a landscaped roof deck and bike storage. He pays about $2,700 a month for his apartment

I know this post was from a month ago but ...... 2700 for one bedroom in LIC! that is nuts.

dmr, Wednesday, 14 May 2014 15:02 (twelve years ago)

like someone recently wrote, ppl in these towers live above LIC.

images of war violence and historical smoking (Dr Morbius), Wednesday, 14 May 2014 15:05 (twelve years ago)

a skyline view and a roof deck is nothing to sneeze at but damn, you can get 2 bedrooms in Park Slope for that much.

dmr, Wednesday, 14 May 2014 15:08 (twelve years ago)

Can you really?

Doritos Loco Parentis (Hurting 2), Wednesday, 14 May 2014 15:21 (twelve years ago)

This puts the median Park Slope 2Br at $3,100, so I guess in theory there must be 2Brs out there for 2700, although I'm guessing they're those 700 sf carved up dealies.

Doritos Loco Parentis (Hurting 2), Wednesday, 14 May 2014 15:25 (twelve years ago)

I didn't really want to be like "here's what I pay in rent" but my rent is only slightly higher than that for a 2 bedroom off 7th Ave.

I mean it's probably not the norm (I think we got a little lucky) but it exists. (xpost)

dmr, Wednesday, 14 May 2014 15:30 (twelve years ago)

Yeah cause if that was easy to find in Park Slope I would be kicking myself a little for not looking in Park Slope.

Doritos Loco Parentis (Hurting 2), Wednesday, 14 May 2014 15:31 (twelve years ago)

Although it's still more than our all-in cost of owning in a co-op where we are, with probably much more square footage for the price.

Doritos Loco Parentis (Hurting 2), Wednesday, 14 May 2014 15:32 (twelve years ago)

oh looks like Lefferts Gdns or bust for me if i am to avoid changing boroughs

images of war violence and historical smoking (Dr Morbius), Wednesday, 14 May 2014 15:32 (twelve years ago)

xp - we were surprised to find it tbh. mostly were looking in Ditmas Park, Windsor Terrace and Kensington. this was like a year and a half ago.

That's How Strong My Dub Is (James Redd and the Blecchs), Saturday, 14 June 2014 23:33 (twelve years ago)

I like some. Got tons of Augustus Pablo and King Tubby and really love Sister Nancy, but there's only so much time in a day, you know?

dan selzer, Sunday, 15 June 2014 01:13 (twelve years ago)

Fair enough.

We're trying to avoid Astoria until after the sports are over.

dan selzer, Monday, 23 June 2014 23:48 (eleven years ago)

If only I had made it to one of those terazza shows. Maybe they'd still be in business.

Hier Komme Die Warum Jetzt (Hurting 2), Tuesday, 24 June 2014 00:49 (eleven years ago)

They are back open as of last Monday. Did you miss that post?

That's How Strong My Dub Is (James Redd and the Blecchs), Tuesday, 24 June 2014 01:03 (eleven years ago)

Oh good.

Hier Komme Die Warum Jetzt (Hurting 2), Tuesday, 24 June 2014 01:06 (eleven years ago)

I had one of those only in queens moments tonight where my train was stuck for a really long time and I wound up in this long conversation with an old Greek guy, a bunch of Indian tourists on their way to check out Costco and a somewhat meek southern baptist recent transplant from Virginia

Hier Komme Die Warum Jetzt (Hurting 2), Tuesday, 24 June 2014 01:08 (eleven years ago)

Lots of honking tonight too. Some guys that play with Hermeto visiting from Brazil at Terraza tonight

That's How Strong My Dub Is (James Redd and the Blecchs), Wednesday, 25 June 2014 01:20 (eleven years ago)

Good drummer too, playing a lot more than when I've seen him before. Inspired by the visit from his compatriots.

In honor of Bobby Womack passing, thread should be renamed Across 111th Street.

Riot In #9 Dream (James Redd and the Blecchs), Thursday, 3 July 2014 16:29 (eleven years ago)

Across 111th Street, Place, Drive, or Road?

Haha, that's what thread title should be.

Avenue.

Wonder what happened to hippie busker on 82nd. He was pretty good. Did a solid version of "Sister Goldenhair" a few weeks ago.

Great show at Terraza tonight. They are on break now so you can run right over for second set.
