There was a thread where GR8080 posted the video for "Weatherman" by Xavier Wulf and Bones. I can't remember what thread it was.

Doritos Loco Parentis (Hurting 2), Thursday, 15 May 2014 01:09 (twelve years ago)

I thought it was that vaporwave and derivative products thread but that doesn't seem to be it?

do we have a thread for sharing philanthropic-related stuff?

Mordy, Thursday, 22 May 2014 02:25 (twelve years ago)

This is not actually a thing "on ILX" (although it may have been posted here once), but I think there is a famous somewhat old quote from a famous writer sort of turning on its head the idea that men who have sex with a lot of women don't "respect" women whereas the "nice" "shy" types who don't get laid do. Came to mind in light of all the Rodgers/#notallmen stuff and a really good N+1 essay.

Roz, Saturday, 7 June 2014 14:49 (twelve years ago)

four weeks pass...

there was a thread where a particular poster offered many very funny short stories from their family life when growing up (iirc most were only a sentence or two in length).

fit and working again, Sunday, 6 July 2014 05:22 (eleven years ago)

Was it My mother's incredibly stupid ex-husband ?

Elvis Telecom, Sunday, 6 July 2014 05:40 (eleven years ago)

my description matches matos' thread but it's not the one i was thinking of. good suggestion though.

fit and working again, Sunday, 6 July 2014 07:21 (eleven years ago)

Can anybody point me to the thread(s) with the two Black Metal socks going at each other.

Can't c&p but search 'making love black metal' for arguably the best one

the matos thread is awesome also.

fit and working again, Sunday, 6 July 2014 19:08 (eleven years ago)

Just reread the Czech one and it's incredible, but then at the bottom I claim there's an even better one involving a Deathkvult FAP. Riches of misery abound

which was retweeted by (imago), Sunday, 6 July 2014 19:08 (eleven years ago)

Awes, ty goole.

Wasn't there a thread about whether it's better to keep a big project secret until it's done or talking about it with other people to commit yourself to doing it?

°ㅇ๐ْ ° (gr8080), Wednesday, 30 July 2014 19:30 (eleven years ago)

I'm not sure how often cinema has been declared dead on ILX, but here's one of them: Is independent American cinema dead?

one way street, Wednesday, 30 July 2014 19:31 (eleven years ago)

no I mean the physical medium of film - I know there is thread that goes into this

Οὖτις, Wednesday, 30 July 2014 19:32 (eleven years ago)

discusses studios forcing theaters to convert to digital etc

Οὖτις, Wednesday, 30 July 2014 19:32 (eleven years ago)

lol NA that's your own thread! i suppose i have a few threads i created and completely forgot about so i shouldn't make fun

Karl Malone, Wednesday, 30 July 2014 19:42 (eleven years ago)

I knew it was my thread, but I couldn't find it! I don't know why!

Immediate Follower (NA), Wednesday, 30 July 2014 19:43 (eleven years ago)

See, I like to browse through my created threads periodically, maybe polish the chrome a little bit on the land borders thread or blow away some dust from the "Things You Can Still Buy New" thread. I'll even open the cellar door and tell the Macintosh Automator thread to keep its chin up.

that WS thread for older glamour shots of old timey celebrities?

Mordy, Friday, 15 August 2014 19:17 (eleven years ago)

I'm looking for the copypasta of rules for posting on an internet message board. it starts with sensible advice like "never give out your real name" but gets more and more hateful and paranoid as it goes on. it's wicked old and didn't originate on ilx, but I'm sure it's been posted here at some point.
