Not a lot of people here. Thing I kind of don't like about Queens, truth be told- if you had this kind of thing at BAM, I believe there would be much more of a turnout. The much-feared horde of Brooklyn hipsters on the horizon, like Dino Buzzati's Tartars, ain't coming any time soon.

Don't you have some connection with guitar player in that band as well, Hurting?

Just got back to my own neighborhood and stopped off to see some Latin Jazz but first had to hear Indian guitar master and composer Prasanna playing behind singer doing "My Favorite Things."

Sorry not Latin Jazz tonight, more like Funky Jazz Fusion led by a Cuban keyboardist with another Cuban-American on drums.

sry, just saw this. Did you introduce yourself? It probably wouldn't have been all that interesting to him since we haven't seen each other in like 13 years, but he is a really nice guy. Who's the guitar player you're referring to?

in re queens vs. brooklyn turnouts, I remember I was really shocked that mary halvorson was standing room only at BAM Cafe, which is silly in retrospect, but that's what queens has done to me.

This puts the median Park Slope 2Br at $3,100, so I guess in theory there must be 2Brs out there for 2700, although I'm guessing they're those 700 sf carved up dealies.

I didn't really want to be like "here's what I pay in rent" but my rent is only slightly higher than that for a 2 bedroom off 7th Ave.

Yeah cause if that was easy to find in Park Slope I would be kicking myself a little for not looking in Park Slope.

Although it's still more than our all-in cost of owning in a co-op where we are, with probably much more square footage for the price.
