I wonder how far they're gonna go with Mason Verger. He's such a repugnant character in the book: woman beater, sadist, rapist, child molester. The worst. It'll be great to see him lose his face.

there was a lot of nietzsche in this episode—early on, and in alanna's interview w/ the social worker (sociopaths 'keep us on our toes' is basically the explanation he floats for the value of murderous immorality to the human race in 'the gay science'), and in davies' sympathy for the horse

Just read on imdb that David Tennant auditioned for Lecter and was deemed excellent, but it didn't work out for some reason. Think I prefer it this way.

I think there's still the outside chance Will killed wildlife man in self-defense, stashed his organs to later serve up to Hannibal, and Freddie is hidden away somewhere. It's Will cat fishing Hannibal.

I love that Mads is showing that Hannibal trusts Will more and more by looking like he's about to start cracking up laughing in nearly every scene.

Oh yeah. I think one of the reasons this show works so well is that it doesn't assume that it's smarter than its audience, but assumes that its audience is really really smart and looking for fun.

I really hope he isn't captured this season. Free Hannibal is a lot more interesting than caged Hannibal.

I'm finding that a lot of this show just washes over me now, I have no fucking idea what is even happening most of the time

but it's so PRETTY

i love the long rambling but soothing psychobabble - you can get lost in it
