There are at least fifteen characters in this that I would happily kill off immediately if it meant freeing up space for trash talking and machinations courtesy of Vary and Littlefinger.

Looking forward to LF's impending fatherhood issues with the creepy breastfeeding child as well.

Varys, ahem.

Matt DC, Saturday, 12 April 2014 11:47 (twelve years ago)

There's only been this one new ep, right? Eh, it was OK. Lots of people grouching around, plus requisite gratuitous boobs/blood/dragons.

Josh in Chicago, Saturday, 12 April 2014 12:41 (twelve years ago)

You could reduce every episode of any good drama in the same manner.

Evan, Saturday, 12 April 2014 14:15 (twelve years ago)

True Detective def could've used some dragons

Roz, Saturday, 12 April 2014 14:36 (twelve years ago)

Well, not using those same elements

Evan, Saturday, 12 April 2014 15:07 (twelve years ago)

WELL NOW

Evan, Monday, 14 April 2014 02:10 (twelve years ago)

And now, True Detective Season 1.5

Ned Raggett, Monday, 14 April 2014 02:15 (twelve years ago)

Not enough catharsis!

Insane Prince of False Binaries (Gukbe), Monday, 14 April 2014 02:28 (twelve years ago)

Like Martin et al was ever going to give you that!

Ned Raggett, Monday, 14 April 2014 02:33 (twelve years ago)

b-b-but surely we deserve an entire hour episode of Joffrey dying painfully while every possible poisoner comes up to him and explains why they might have done it.

Insane Prince of False Binaries (Gukbe), Monday, 14 April 2014 02:39 (twelve years ago)

You know nothing etc.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 14 April 2014 02:43 (twelve years ago)

yes i just posted a buzzfeed link

balls, Monday, 14 April 2014 02:50 (twelve years ago)

lag∞n, Monday, 14 April 2014 03:21 (twelve years ago)

Tyrion went all Harry & the Hendersons on Shae

Evan, Monday, 14 April 2014 03:22 (twelve years ago)

Man I felt like they might have saved this for a later ep. But having it happen in the 2nd ep is pretty cool and a good f you

, Monday, 14 April 2014 03:31 (twelve years ago)

it was getting unrealistic that someone hadnt killed him yet

lag∞n, Monday, 14 April 2014 03:34 (twelve years ago)

every scene youre just all why wont someone kill him

lag∞n, Monday, 14 April 2014 03:34 (twelve years ago)

For real. Actually haven't seen this ep yet but I'm assuming everybody is freaking out over the death of Littlefinger?

, Monday, 14 April 2014 03:38 (twelve years ago)

yes

lag∞n, Monday, 14 April 2014 04:04 (twelve years ago)

surprised or see that there's some debate around the internet over over the culprit(s), since it felt to me that it was definitely orchestrated by the tyrells.

ryan, Monday, 14 April 2014 04:52 (twelve years ago)

it's good for cersei and tywin too hmm hmm

resulting post (rogermexico.), Monday, 14 April 2014 05:31 (twelve years ago)

ya seems like the tyrells wld want an heir first

lag∞n, Monday, 14 April 2014 05:34 (twelve years ago)

i thought the episode pretty heavily implied the killer but idk ymmv

Mordy , Monday, 14 April 2014 05:40 (twelve years ago)

The killer was....... all of us

*Everybody lowers their head and reflects*

, Monday, 14 April 2014 06:09 (twelve years ago)

i consider myself a moral human being but i wouldn't lower my head for being a part of that tbh

Insane Prince of False Binaries (Gukbe), Monday, 14 April 2014 06:30 (twelve years ago)

tho really i think i wanted some variation of Chris Rocks' "Daddy" scene in Nurse Betty for Joff's demise.

Insane Prince of False Binaries (Gukbe), Monday, 14 April 2014 06:31 (twelve years ago)

Haha Bran is like 27 now

, Monday, 14 April 2014 15:13 (twelve years ago)

He's bigger than Hodor

, Monday, 14 April 2014 15:14 (twelve years ago)

I'm more happy about Shae now being out of the picture than I am about Joffrey. At least, I hope she's out of the picture.

painfully alive in a drugged and dying culture (DavidM), Monday, 14 April 2014 15:25 (twelve years ago)

because we never see Shae getting on the boat and leaving my expectations during the wedding was Joff bringing her out and flaying her or some such nonsense for the crowd.

Insane Prince of False Binaries (Gukbe), Monday, 14 April 2014 16:17 (twelve years ago)

shae's accent is so annoying + she's still the worst actor on the show. i kept thinking i'd get used to her as time went on but last night she was as painful to watch as ever.

Mordy , Monday, 14 April 2014 17:05 (twelve years ago)

That was one hell of a bombshell to drop two episodes into a season but I suppose it was also like 3/4 of the way through a book. Proper grisly Jim Robinson type death scene as well.

Also there is no way in hell that Shae got on that boat, or at least left on it.

Matt DC, Monday, 14 April 2014 18:44 (twelve years ago)

Considering he can INHABIT THE MINDS OF WOLVES Bran is one hell of a boring character.

Matt DC, Monday, 14 April 2014 18:46 (twelve years ago)

faithful to the books on that one

ciderpress, Monday, 14 April 2014 18:47 (twelve years ago)

Yeah I wish there was some momentum there. Worrying they'll just trudge along forever in the snow until he finds another tree to give him more clues.

Evan, Monday, 14 April 2014 18:57 (twelve years ago)

yeah, that storyline is a bummer because it always seems like it's leading in a more promising direction, but his mad dream skillz seem to function more as a deus ex machina. like in last night's episode, they're wandering north in search of...something. suddenly the tree pours angel dust into his throat, he freaks out, wakes up and says he knows where to go now. it's just not satisfying

Karl Malone, Monday, 14 April 2014 19:00 (twelve years ago)

not like he got their with any clear aim (that i can recall) either tho.

Porto for Pyros (The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall), Monday, 14 April 2014 19:17 (twelve years ago)

It only took me ten minutes at work this morning to accidentally learn who did it. Sheesh.

polyphonic, Monday, 14 April 2014 19:24 (twelve years ago)

i was 90% sure right off the bat and a coworker pretty much confirmed it for me today (except for one party being involved i did not expect)

Porto for Pyros (The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall), Monday, 14 April 2014 19:35 (twelve years ago)

Why wasn't Littlefinger in the episode?

Evan, Monday, 14 April 2014 19:50 (twelve years ago)

so who's king now

How dare you tarnish the reputation of Turturro's yodel (Shakey Mo Collier), Monday, 14 April 2014 19:51 (twelve years ago)

i was wondering about that too. i imagine they'll have a courteous and frank discussion early on in the next episode and make an announcement that will anger no one.

Karl Malone, Monday, 14 April 2014 19:55 (twelve years ago)

The little brother seems logical? Not like he'll be doing anything with the title.

Evan, Monday, 14 April 2014 19:58 (twelve years ago)

Joffrey has a little brother? man, for all the murdering that goes on on this show there are STILL too many characters

How dare you tarnish the reputation of Turturro's yodel (Shakey Mo Collier), Monday, 14 April 2014 20:02 (twelve years ago)

if my charts are accurate, I think it falls to Varys

sitting on a claud all day gotta make your butt numb (forksclovetofu), Monday, 14 April 2014 20:04 (twelve years ago)

my guess is Tywin rules until the little lannister comes of age?

ryan, Monday, 14 April 2014 20:09 (twelve years ago)

Yeah his little brother was the kid that found himself laughing at the offensive play then realized he was sitting next to Tyrion.
