damn who on this show is NOT a murderer
― j., Saturday, March 29, 2014 11:08 PM
Kind of encapsulates my issues with the show TBH.

soooo the reveal at the end of this episode is exactly what I thought Beverly saw in Hannibal's basement
― have a nice blood/orange bitters cocktail (mh), Saturday, 5 April 2014 03:06 (twelve years ago)
That was quite an episode of prime time broadcast TV. o_0

― carl agatha, Saturday, 5 April 2014 03:28 (twelve years ago)
I want Hannibal's bluish patterned shirt
― have a nice blood/orange bitters cocktail (mh), Saturday, 5 April 2014 03:29 (twelve years ago)
The one he was wearing while preparing her dinner and chatting her up, it was nice. I was thinking how it'd work with some pants I have.
― have a nice blood/orange bitters cocktail (mh), Saturday, 5 April 2014 03:30 (twelve years ago)
They're really having a lot of fun with Chilton this season aren't they?
Great episode. This show is so good right now.
― Quinoa Phoenix (latebloomer), Saturday, 5 April 2014 06:54 (twelve years ago)
lol'd pretty hard at Hannibal's wink.
― Insane Prince of False Binaries (Gukbe), Saturday, 5 April 2014 08:02 (twelve years ago)
Yeah I cackled quite a few times during this ep
― Quinoa Phoenix (latebloomer), Saturday, 5 April 2014 08:08 (twelve years ago)
hannibal in bed with alana, reaching over like he was going to touch her tenderly, but instead snapping in her ear to make sure she was unconscious -- just a tiny thing but SO chilling to me.
― reddening, Saturday, 5 April 2014 09:12 (twelve years ago)
IN WHAT
― j., Saturday, 5 April 2014 12:57 (twelve years ago)
Amazed how consistently GREAT this series has been since it began.
― That elusive North American wood-ape (Capitaine Jay Vee), Saturday, 5 April 2014 19:15 (twelve years ago)
This series is such an exquisitely crafted work of hideous beauty, long may it continue.
Oh god seeing Hannibal in bed with Alana (>_<)
― xelab, Saturday, 5 April 2014 20:58 (twelve years ago)
So can we cut it out with the trolling about whether Hannibal is the ripper or not after this episode? b/c that shit from upthread has been driving me nuts all week.
― Clay, Sunday, 6 April 2014 10:00 (twelve years ago)
Spoken like a true Protestant.
― MV, Sunday, 6 April 2014 13:35 (twelve years ago)
How could he be the ripper? He's a trusted psychiatrist.
― have a nice blood/orange bitters cocktail (mh), Sunday, 6 April 2014 14:41 (twelve years ago)
hannibal truthers get your own thread
― reddening, Sunday, 6 April 2014 14:49 (twelve years ago)
Now we know directly threatening Madshannibal is going to be just as amazing as apparently harmless Dr. Madslecter. Also holy crap what a lot of meat. Only thing I didn't love was all the digital reverb on the harpsichord, but since the used a real one with a real player I suppose I shouldn't complain too much.

Janice Poon, the show's food stylist, has a fantastic blog about putting together the meals featured on the show. - http://janicepoonart.blogspot.com/2014/04/episode-6-futamono.html

wow so all the hannibal/alana shippers finally get some fanservice. what should we call the pair? hanlana? alannibal?
wonder where gideon is and why he's having such weird hallucinations.
― wat is teh waht (s.clover), Thursday, 10 April 2014 19:09 (twelve years ago)
no alannibal at all this episode!
now that we know gideon was the ripper (makes a lot of sense, in retrospect. don't know how i didn't see it) then is the show just going to introduce a new big bad soon?
― wat is teh waht (s.clover), Sunday, 13 April 2014 01:49 (twelve years ago)
you mean Chilton. I don't know how you could make such a grievous oversight.
― a strange man (mh), Sunday, 13 April 2014 02:06 (twelve years ago)
you're right! i usually pay much more attention to the details in this show.
― wat is teh waht (s.clover), Sunday, 13 April 2014 02:14 (twelve years ago)
Still that thing, huh
― Insane Prince of False Binaries (Gukbe), Sunday, 13 April 2014 04:15 (twelve years ago)
i like will's uh grimly posi attitude once they spring him from the criminally insane joint
― j., Wednesday, 16 April 2014 22:44 (twelve years ago)
Chlumsky was amazing last week. Still kinda meh on the show lately, though.
― Simon H., Wednesday, 16 April 2014 23:37 (twelve years ago)
dang, this is the Verger family intro, isn't it?
― a strange man (mh), Saturday, 19 April 2014 02:37 (twelve years ago)
Is you social worker in that horse?

Hats off to whoever's thinking up these crazy scenarios

The bird that flew out was a starling, FYI.
― carl agatha, Saturday, 19 April 2014 23:47 (twelve years ago)

― set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Sunday, 20 April 2014 01:16 (twelve years ago)
I'm think she's mason verger's sister
― jbn, Sunday, 20 April 2014 01:33 (twelve years ago)

― wat is teh waht (s.clover), Sunday, 20 April 2014 15:39 (twelve years ago)
glad to see they retained mason verger's human tears martinis.
― slam dunk, Sunday, 20 April 2014 22:32 (twelve years ago)
I wonder how far they're gonna go with Mason Verger. He's such a repugnant character in the book: woman beater, sadist, rapist, child molester. The worst. It'll be great to see him lose his face.
― Quinoa Phoenix (latebloomer), Monday, 21 April 2014 00:48 (twelve years ago)
Count on them doing something even nastier.
― Simon H., Monday, 21 April 2014 00:50 (twelve years ago)

thankfully Fuller didn't go with the novel's version of Margot:
In the novel, she’s a very masculine character, who has had years of steroid abuse and is a lesbian, and it was unclear to me in the novel whether she was either transgender or a lesbian as a result of those horrible abuses and that horrible childhood and [Beat.] that’s not how transgenderism or homosexuality works. So I didn’t want to contribute to that misconception of what it is to be transgender or a gay woman.

Was there any reference to Chilton at all, this week? I'm kind of assuming he made it, but it really seemed like he was killed.

FISH
― j., Friday, 25 April 2014 01:53 (twelve years ago)
good to see jeremy davies is still cutting his own hair
there was a lot of nietzsche in this episode—early on, and in alanna's interview w/ the social worker (sociopaths 'keep us on our toes' is basically the explanation he floats for the value of murderous immorality to the human race in 'the gay science'), and in davies' sympathy for the horse
