I was excited to watch Louis CK tonight, but aside from a few brief moments it was a lackluster show, really disappointing.

Why can't Snl find decent musical acts.

Yeah, this week was a huge dud.

And should I complain about Colin Jost again? I'm going to anyway. That guy is a piece of white bread soaked in toilet water.

I actually didn't mind this week's episode. Maybe my expectations were low. Also, Sam Smith was great.

Seriously, he's gotta go. He looks like he knows he's not supposed to be on TV. No reason Strong can't do Update solo.

Sam Smith sounded good, but that song is totally a slowed down version of "won't back down" by tom petty

i skipped the sketch where they were about to sing mr big stuff and the one where vanessa bayer looked like stefanie powers in hart to hart for some reason but other than a kinda weirdly weak and short weekend update (i'm not sold on jost yet but i'm not nearly as FUCK THIS GUY as you guys) i enjoyed every sketch this week. there were several lines during the rom com sketch at the end that killed me, i actually immediately watched it again after it was over.

I'm surprised Sam Smith didn't do "Money On My Mind". Maybe even he realized how shrill and annoying the chorus is.

I think I laughed harder at the baby / boss sketch than anything on the show in 20 years; just pure visceral sight-gag laughs. Just slaughtered me.

I thought that and Black Jeopardy and Dyke & Fats were pretty great. And Mooney's film was probably his best yet.

Baby boss sketch has been funnier in the past. Some of the timing was off on this one, but when Aidy got cake in the face a second time I lol'ed.

i enjoyed it though i prefer the more absurdist things he does w/ beck bennett than the spot on takes on amateur videos he's done. beck bennett's seems to have established himself the most of the new ppl, other than him and mooney's shorts the main effect of the new ppl has been to make the still pretty damn new ppl seem like old hands. like it doesn't feel like this is only cecily strong's second season. nasim feels like from a totally different era, like the last season david spade was still there, i'm curious what percentage of her appearances this season have been as either a child or kim kardashian.

It feels like Nasim Pedrad has hit a wall.

well she was gonna be on that mulaney sitcom and then ended up back here and like i think literally all she's had is kardashian appearances and the occasional sketch where she plays a kid.

And Arianna Huffington, but that bit won't work so well without Meyers. Can't imagine Jost riffing with her (or doing it well, at least).

I like Nasim when she does characters but not her impersonations.

I like Nasim but I feel like they blew it when they kept her and dropped Jenny Slate. Who has done some great stuff on Kroll Show lately.

I loved Slate on the finale of Kroll, where she played both Liz and her niece.

i like the bad joke bar mitzvah kid, but can't really see movie spinoff from it.

don't like that character at all. I probably just find Boss Baby hilarious because I have a baby that age.

Yeah I think Cecily looks great lately. My sister-in-law swears she's pregnant.

otm, Cecily looks amazing. actually the entire female cast really attractive this year (and hella funny) - shame that the writing has been uneven at times, though Kate McKinnon can often make me laugh regardless.

also Colin Jost was so bad on Weekend Update this past week (like even moreso than usual) that he managed to kill the buzz for the entire sketch. I mean Stephen A Smith is a tired gag at this point but the audience wasn't even reacting cos Jost couldn't play off with him. Any good lines Cecily did had were dulled cuz they knew a Colin line was coming next.

I thought Jost was ok. And the SAS impression is hilarious, i cry laughing every time he does that. It's perfect.

Cecily Strong is hot, dont get me wrong. And the gal they brought on midway through this season is absolutely smoking.

I've only seen him on ESPN maybe 2 or 3 times ever and I still think the bit is hilarious. Pharoah kept mugging at Jost as if to say "Really, dude? I can't get anything out of you?"

Ive been unfortunate enough to see Smith a million times and i can tell you that this thing is dead on, and hilarious.
