It's not saying anything about black people, or Brazilians, or Barcelona players, or men, or whatever. It's saying something about ONE MAN.

I'd agree with this, but still, in the creation of a bottle-opener that sends up Ronaldinho's teeth, they've made a product that resembles a canonical odious racist image--again, it was my first association upon seeing the bottle-opener--and I'm a little uncomfortable with images that resemble such portrayals.

There was a programme last night about the 200 years thing, and one guy traced back his ancestry to his great-great(possibly another great, I forget)-grandfather, and found that he'd been sold into slavery by his own tribe/village/community/whatever, rather than kidnapped by white people. People have been taking the piss out of Ronaldinho's teeth since forever, including people who love and admire his talent. No other black man in world football that I'm aware of has anyone taking the piss out of his teeth. The bottler opener has NOTHING TO DO WITH RACE. It's all about finding a flaw in a talented rich hero. I can understand people with pronounced teeth being offended by this (at the end of the day laughing about buck teeth is a playground bullying tactic) but I really don't get that people think there's a racist motive.

People have been mocking footballers and their appearance for as long as I can remember. It's all down to taking down yr idols, people with a talent and wealth that you envy.

"Englishes" look at Ronaldinho Bottle Opener and say "haha big teeth", and what looks at it and says "Golliwog" - yet he thinks other people are racist.
