I am realizing that I like this show less when it tries to make me take these characters seriously/care about their problems. I just want the lolz. Which Broad City delivers more consistently anyway.

How dare you tarnish the reputation of Turturro's yodel (Shakey Mo Collier), Tuesday, 18 March 2014 17:50 (twelve years ago)

Broad City is a different show altogether tho

girls is hilarious too though. hannah storming into ray's bedroom saying "everything's my business" was lol

Treeship, Tuesday, 18 March 2014 19:58 (twelve years ago)

her bursting in like that didn't really make any sense though

Number None, Tuesday, 18 March 2014 23:10 (twelve years ago)

I liked the crate of "ADAM'S CREEPY SHIT" in Ray's apt

, Tuesday, 18 March 2014 23:11 (twelve years ago)

scene was weird. it didnt seem clear that she was trying to get fired, really. kinda seemed like she was just being a brat with no aim in mind. like, obv she was going to be fired, but she didnt express relief when it happened, really - and there was no real gearing up for it. it just flowed weird imo

Yeah I think you're supposed to read it as Hannah expressing her anxieties over her relaysh that were amplified by meeting with Lippone, suicide-by-WAKE-UP-SHEEPLE, but the scene didn't flow well at all

, Tuesday, 18 March 2014 23:12 (twelve years ago)

i liked how she got tongue tied and made up a word -- i think it was "squanderation" -- in the course of a rant about her important literary gifts.

Treeship, Wednesday, 19 March 2014 00:00 (twelve years ago)

please. LuPone.

Who is that

, Wednesday, 19 March 2014 00:36 (twelve years ago)

A very famous singer and actress.

1 P.3. Eternal (roxymuzak), Wednesday, 19 March 2014 00:37 (twelve years ago)

it didnt seem clear that she was trying to get fired,

she wasn't consciously, this was desperate self-justification after the fact

Charles, hatless (sic), Wednesday, 19 March 2014 01:11 (twelve years ago)

yeah that makes sense. wtf WAS she doing tho

1 P.3. Eternal (roxymuzak), Wednesday, 19 March 2014 01:16 (twelve years ago)

1 P.3. Eternal (roxymuzak), Wednesday, 19 March 2014 01:17 (twelve years ago)

I really like this show, but I skip past all musical performances in embarrassment, especially the rapping white chick

this reminded me of the bit in the tank girl movie where tank girl keeps changing jet girl's fake lavish model name while undercover as a fashion photographer

OMG HOW THE FUCK DID I NOT NOTICE THAT THE ARTIST IN THE LAST EPISODE WAS LOUISE FUCKING LASSER?!?!?

this bothered me too, & the only rational explanation I can think of is that the events of this episode have caused to fall back on her identity of 'confessional writer/boundary-averse snoop'

my GF was like "I actually really like this song!"
it took all my self-control not to get up, walk out the door, and never call her again

"squanderization"—I actually repeated "squanderization?!" in disbelief, then was like "yessss" when her coworker called her on it a second later

I think that a cameo appearance by Jim Florentine of VH1 Classic's That Metal Show was literally the thing i would least expect on Girls, so good job Lena!

yeah i think this is what's going on with her and it's in character. i think she is aware of the social norms she violates; part of it is an entitlement thing i think. i think hannah has unusually high confidence levels.

I think she burst into the bedroom cause she recognized Marnie's voice in the moaning?

yeah, that's what i assumed

I hope I never know what my friends' sex sounds are like.

Herbie Handcock (Murgatroid), Saturday, 22 March 2014 04:12 (twelve years ago)

she strongly suspected/feared it was marnie and had to find out

remember like 1 episode ago when marnie revealed she had a secret she "couldn't tell" hannah

1 P.3. Eternal (roxymuzak), Saturday, 22 March 2014 06:15 (twelve years ago)

I feel like an entire Seinfeld episode could have been based around "recognizing a friend's sex sounds"

Many American citizens are literally paralyzed by (bernard snowy), Saturday, 22 March 2014 14:29 (twelve years ago)

Um...so is this how Hannah/Lena is going to get herself out of the show?

I know she said in an interview that she wanted to be in front of the camera less, because she has more fun writing/producing/directing or something?

, Monday, 24 March 2014 03:28 (twelve years ago)

Really enjoyed her interview on WTF. I'd really love to watch this show someday.

how's life, Monday, 24 March 2014 11:24 (twelve years ago)

Jessa's storyline was heartbreaking as is, so I can't imagine how good it would be if it didn't revolve around a character that was introduced one episode prior to the finale.
