im really glad eli(jah?) is back on the show. it seems like a lot of people are uncomfortable with his character as an unfortunate/irritating gay friend stereotype which i totally understand but he also reminds me of so many irritating irl friends that i begrudgingly miss! so i kind of love him
― 1 P.3. Eternal (roxymuzak), Wednesday, 12 March 2014 23:38 (twelve years ago)
I haven't seen the latest but I too love Elijah for similar reasons.

i found ep 9 v stressful and hard to watch with all the horrible confrontations between the 3 sisters
― set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 13 March 2014 02:44 (twelve years ago)
Some of her best ever dialogue in that episode (did she write it?)
― Treeship, Thursday, 13 March 2014 02:45 (twelve years ago)
Episode 9 was written by Bruce Eric Kaplan[0]. Why am I just recently finding out about Felicity Jones? She is absolutely beautiful.

― Treeship, Tuesday, 18 March 2014 03:23 (twelve years ago)
Always glad to see Natalie Morales. She's great in Trophy Wife.
― Herbie Handcock (Murgatroid), Tuesday, 18 March 2014 04:35 (twelve years ago)
Great episode. I mean, it was so excruciating I literally had to watch it thru my fingers, but great episode.

I found the scene at GQ where she quits so hard to watch, I think, because I sympathise with the fears and anxieties that made her self-destruct like that, but know that what she did and the way she did was the worst possible option for her, and pretty horrid behaviour to her co-workers.
― you are clinically deaf and should sell you iPod (stevie), Tuesday, 18 March 2014 07:43 (twelve years ago)
scene was weird. it didnt seem clear that she was trying to get fired, really. kinda seemed like she was just being a brat with no aim in mind. like, obv she was going to be fired, but she didnt express relief when it happened, really - and there was no real gearing up for it. it just flowed weird imo
― 1 P.3. Eternal (roxymuzak), Tuesday, 18 March 2014 17:38 (twelve years ago)
I am realizing that I like this show less when it tries to make me take these characters seriously/care about their problems. I just want the lolz. Which Broad City delivers more consistently anyway.
― How dare you tarnish the reputation of Turturro's yodel (Shakey Mo Collier), Tuesday, 18 March 2014 17:50 (twelve years ago)
Broad City is a different show altogether tho
― waterbabies (waterface), Tuesday, 18 March 2014 18:22 (twelve years ago)

Yeah I think you're supposed to read it as Hannah expressing her anxieties over her relaysh that were amplified by meeting with Lippone, suicide-by-WAKE-UP-SHEEPLE, but the scene didn't flow well at all
― 龜, Tuesday, 18 March 2014 23:12 (twelve years ago)
i liked how she got tongue tied and made up a word -- i think it was "squanderation" -- in the course of a rant about her important literary gifts.
― Treeship, Wednesday, 19 March 2014 00:00 (twelve years ago)

it didnt seem clear that she was trying to get fired,
she wasn't consciously, this was desperate self-justification after the fact
