― Charles, hatless (sic), Friday, 14 March 2014 12:14 (twelve years ago)
Perfect episode in every way. Dean's rap probably the funniest moment of the season. I was in tears.
How in the fuck did this show stay so fucking good after Glover left?

He looks so at sea in the coda with Gina gershon. Makes me love him all the more.

Supposedly he kept protesting to Harmon "I'm not an actor!" Harmon's response was basically, "Great! Use that!"

Making an early 90s VCR game the central conceit of an episode gives me the feeling that Dan Harmon et al are gloriously flying the Enterprise straight into the sun just to see what they can get away with.

this was a brilliant episode, and still for all that dean pelton was the MVP

― I got the glares, the mutterings, the snarls (President Keyes), Saturday, 15 March 2014 13:16 (twelve years ago)
On some level the show feels less ambitious than it did in season 2, even though its basically doing the same thing. Only then it felt like "who knows where this could go?" And now its "celebrations of obscure reference points that still focus on the emotional dynamics between the characters, that's what we do." I used to worry the show would turn Family Guy but its got way too much heart to do that right now. So it's a little low impact and I can't imagine non-nerd people who aren't already into it getting into it, but I don't care because I'm so grateful for it.

― you are clinically deaf and should sell you iPod (stevie), Sunday, 16 March 2014 08:22 (twelve years ago)
Thought that last episode was mixed. The VHS half was enjoyable, especially Gilligan, but not really actual-laughing-funny. The textbook story was kind of boring and confusing.
I've really enjoyed this season, but something about it is almost starting to remind of Red Dwarf, although maybe that's just a hangover from last week.
― Chuck_Tatum, Sunday, 16 March 2014 18:15 (twelve years ago)
The textbook part was the most conventional part of the ep!
― Neanderthal, Sunday, 16 March 2014 18:58 (twelve years ago)
It did kind of remind me of that lame episode where everyone was stuck in the garage at a Thanksgiving dinner for some reason.
― Emperor Cos Dashit (Adam Bruneau), Sunday, 16 March 2014 19:00 (twelve years ago)
eh I thought it was cute they had Vince Gilligan in the nerdy storyline while the rest of the cast was in a BB style heist & betrayal plot
