today is gorgeous in new england, i took a walk without a coat. was a little chilly but it felt great to not wear a jacket

these days aside, march is brutal. it's just a tease. real spring here doesn't come until late april

but having a 54 degree day in this winter feels like a miracle. in a winter as harsh, continuous, and cold as this one i seriously have trouble comprehending that it will get warm again someday. i forget what trees look like with leaves.

Until now, March has been ridiculous here in the Netherlands. From Sunday to today, the sky's been clear and afternoon temperatures have been close to or at 20°C (between 60 and 70°F) - I've been doing my running excercises in shorts and shirts for the last two weeks!
