Nhex, Sunday, 2 March 2014 06:19 (twelve years ago)

I'm in love with Britta when they do her well.

That was so good. One of their best episodes yet.

jmm, Friday, 7 March 2014 01:47 (twelve years ago)

Best episode since S3.

CAROUSEL! CAROUSEL! (Telephone thing), Friday, 7 March 2014 22:22 (twelve years ago)

Loving the expansion of the Hurwitz/Harmon mutual admiration society.

Charles, hatless (sic), Friday, 7 March 2014 22:23 (twelve years ago)

I didn't really find Koogler very funny but the rest of the episode was A+++.

I notice they didn't include Magnitude in that episode because he would really have blown the Meowmeowbeanz system wide open.

Matt DC, Friday, 7 March 2014 22:57 (twelve years ago)

Jeff and Shirley rivalry episodes are so great.

Matt DC, Friday, 7 March 2014 23:04 (twelve years ago)

Didn't get any of the references (I'm told Hunger Games was one...?), still loved it. Very laff-heavy episode, especially after last week's...in fact, probably the most laff-heavy of the conceptual game-takes-over-Greendale eps.

Montgomery Burns' Jazz (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Friday, 7 March 2014 23:12 (twelve years ago)

amazing. another reference I'm sure…

Emperor Cos Dashit (Adam Bruneau), Saturday, 8 March 2014 02:01 (twelve years ago)

Where did Koogler come from? Did I miss something (nb only watched a little bit of S4).

I wish to incorporate disco into my small business (chap), Saturday, 8 March 2014 02:39 (twelve years ago)

mitch hurwitz played koogler, he and harmon have become fast friends over the past year or so (dan had a cameo in the netflix arrested development episodes) so i think they were just finding something for hurwitz to do / spoofing on goofy college movies.

Clay, Saturday, 8 March 2014 02:46 (twelve years ago)

Oh so he was a new character to that episode. Gotcha.

Hurwitz has been on a few episodes of Harmon's podcast lately, and is generally hilarious.

Also yeah, liked this episode - Shirley/Jeff always a good pairing, oddly

Nhex, Saturday, 8 March 2014 18:56 (twelve years ago)

is The Apple quite the cult thing, I've *never* heard of it, and I've seen a lot of shit in my time. (Hello Xanadu)

Britain's Obtusest Shepherd (Alan), Sunday, 9 March 2014 09:08 (twelve years ago)

meant to add - had to watch this a second time. just terrific - might be my favourite episode ever.

And because of the Buck Rogers link in my head I was reminder of the South Park that riffed heavily on that I'm just going to post it (again)

Britain's Obtusest Shepherd (Alan), Sunday, 9 March 2014 09:11 (twelve years ago)

That sent me down a trail of Buck Rogers clips. Never saw this show. Wasted youth :(
Buck Rogers Disco Dancing! biddibiddibiddibiddi It's expressive. Really impressed by how the musician figured out what the hell dumbass Buck wanted.

Øystein, Sunday, 9 March 2014 10:44 (twelve years ago)

Well the Apple is about disco fascism, and at some points in the movie they decide everyone has to wear these holographic triangles at all times. Pretty sure there was a direct reference to that.

Emperor Cos Dashit (Adam Bruneau), Sunday, 9 March 2014 16:29 (twelve years ago)

this episode was so so great.

you are clinically deaf and should sell you iPod (stevie), Sunday, 9 March 2014 23:02 (twelve years ago)

you are clinically deaf and should sell you iPod (stevie), Sunday, 9 March 2014 23:02 (twelve years ago)

When I clocked they were parodying 60s/70s sci-fi I laughed like a bastard.

I wish to incorporate disco into my small business (chap), Sunday, 9 March 2014 23:05 (twelve years ago)

yeah it was the background music/'tones' playing when you first see jeff-as-a-4 that did it

a commentary on self-absorbed youth culture in the social media age (zachlyon), Sunday, 9 March 2014 23:33 (twelve years ago)

SPENCER

Charles, hatless (sic), Friday, 14 March 2014 12:14 (twelve years ago)

Perfect episode in every way. Dean's rap probably the funniest moment of the season. I was in tears.

How in the fuck did this show stay so fucking good after Glover left?

Montgomery Burns' Jazz (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Friday, 14 March 2014 13:38 (twelve years ago)

OMG VINCE GILLIGAN'S GUEST SPOT

His identity was bugging me so much, finally twigged who he was in the coda.

Johnny Fever, Friday, 14 March 2014 14:54 (twelve years ago)

He looks so at sea in the coda with Gina gershon. Makes me love him all the more.

TheMenzies, Friday, 14 March 2014 15:03 (twelve years ago)

Supposedly he kept protesting to Harmon "I'm not an actor!" Harmon's response was basically, "Great! Use that!"
