some post from a bit ago about the evolution of ilx posters and it like starts w/ earnest posters and goes thru stages - just bumps, cryptic remarks, subboards only, etc

i feel liek thats the final step on the ilx journey: earnest music poster > stando ile person > sub bord mainstay > indecipherable one liners > sock master

^Some are cycling through that loop indefinitely, though. So it's difficult to tell whence they came.

I did find the NYT article but not the thread.
eh whatever
search prompted by last night's viewing of "We Need to Talk About Kevin" which is kind of a nightmarish thing to watch as a parent. not that I suspect either of my children of being psychopaths

do we have a thread for sharing philanthropic-related stuff?
― Mordy, Thursday, 22 May 2014 02:25 (twelve years ago)
This is not actually a thing "on ILX" (although it may have been posted here once), but I think there is a famous somewhat old quote from a famous writer sort of turning on its head the idea that men who have sex with a lot of women don't "respect" women whereas the "nice" "shy" types who don't get laid do. Came to mind in light of all the Rodgers/#notallmen stuff and a really good N+1 essay.

Just reread the Czech one and it's incredible, but then at the bottom I claim there's an even better one involving a Deathkvult FAP. Riches of misery abound
