i'm not sure it's about the celebrity only, i've heard lawyers argue that these cases were not strong enough. i think there's a real concern that bringing cases just to be seen to be doing something, or for more nefarious reasons as stevie suggests, is just going to muddy the waters for potential cases with a genuine prospect of conviction in the future

Anyone read Dan Davies' Savile biog In Plain Sight? Started it over the weekend and it's captivating and horrible.

Getting interesting. Apparently concerning the 'suicide' of the woman who ran the guest house where all sorts of shenanigans are alleged to have occurred.

there is an awful lot of rumour floating around about just how much horrible stuff was/is going on involving members of the establishment. it feels kinda telling that the government can't seem to find someone to lead the inquiry who isn't compromised by association with questionable characters.
