you can certainly watch a single episode. it's 22 minutes long + far from unbearable.
the five minutes I watched way back when were unbearable
― Fight the Powers that Be with this Powerful Les Paul! (DJP), Thursday, 13 February 2014 22:06 (twelve years ago)
tbh you don't really need to watch even 30 sec of the show to afford other people the right to enjoy it
― we slowly invented brains (La Lechera), Thursday, 13 February 2014 22:09 (twelve years ago)
please show me where I am abridging anyone's right to enjoy the show
― Fight the Powers that Be with this Powerful Les Paul! (DJP), Thursday, 13 February 2014 22:10 (twelve years ago)
you're not! i'm just saying that it's not a requirement. geez!
― we slowly invented brains (La Lechera), Thursday, 13 February 2014 22:11 (twelve years ago)
La Lechera otm
someone who repped for Drawn Together calling this unbearable however
― 1 P.3. Eternal (roxymuzak), Thursday, 13 February 2014 22:15 (twelve years ago)

― Fight the Powers that Be with this Powerful Les Paul! (DJP), Thursday, 13 February 2014 22:49 (twelve years ago)
Jeff and I watched an episode after we watched the brony doc bc those dudes were so into it and their enthusiasm was contagious. I was fully prepared to love it but it just didn't do it for me. Probably for the best all things considered.
― carl agatha, Thursday, 13 February 2014 23:00 (twelve years ago)
Since the rise of this whole phenomenon I have watched some episodes. It's very cute and funny. Would watch again, but not something I would seek out or want to write constantly about on MLP forums and buy merch and stuff. Bronies are about as obnoxious as those Supernatural super-fans, or any obsessive fandom type.
― Viceroy, Thursday, 13 February 2014 23:15 (twelve years ago)
Not as bad as buffy fans tbh
― the waifdom of gizzards (darraghmac), Thursday, 13 February 2014 23:25 (twelve years ago)
except the want bonus points for obsessing over something so ~unconventional~

Supernatural super fans seem worse because that show is mostly garbage.
― carl agatha, Thursday, 13 February 2014 23:26 (twelve years ago)
def need to try harder on my lighthearted zings cause that obv didnt bother you at all!
― 1 P.3. Eternal (roxymuzak), Friday, 14 February 2014 00:42 (twelve years ago)
DEF disagree that boys (not 35 y/os) getting into this show is patriarchal appropriation - i think it's great tbh; however def also agree with dp that if grown men are getting into it so they can fuck it (lol) then that def is symptomatic of patriarchy obv
― 1 P.3. Eternal (roxymuzak), Friday, 14 February 2014 00:46 (twelve years ago)
is it okay for grown men to like JEM
― PSY talks The Nut Job (forksclovetofu), Friday, 14 February 2014 01:19 (twelve years ago)

― 1 P.3. Eternal (roxymuzak), Friday, 14 February 2014 01:20 (twelve years ago)

― PSY talks The Nut Job (forksclovetofu), Friday, 14 February 2014 01:21 (twelve years ago)
My best friend and I watched JEM together every day before catching the bus to middle school. I was under strict instructions never to tell anybody about it ever.

TRIVIA CHECK: we all know Jem's singing voice was Britta Phillips of Luna RIGHT?
― jamiesummerz, Friday, 14 February 2014 01:42 (twelve years ago)
love that trivia.
Adults being into this is no weirder than people watching CSI-style crime shows glamorizing the most nightmarish and violent aspects of society. Or any 24 Hour News channel fwiw.
― Emperor Cos Dashit (Adam Bruneau), Friday, 14 February 2014 01:57 (twelve years ago)
xp duh, but Britta Phillips was the best in Satisfaction.
― we slowly invented brains (La Lechera), Friday, 14 February 2014 02:08 (twelve years ago)
now that is 1 fun fact
― 1 P.3. Eternal (roxymuzak), Friday, 14 February 2014 02:33 (twelve years ago)
Maybe a little weirder xp
― indifferent strokes (rip van wanko), Friday, 14 February 2014 02:34 (twelve years ago)

they were on netflix recently, but then they were yanked away
― 1 P.3. Eternal (roxymuzak), Friday, 14 February 2014 04:25 (twelve years ago)
The Misfits are composed of petulant rich girl Pizzazz (real name Phyllis Gabor) and her cohorts: no-nonsense Roxy (Roxanne Pelligrini) and kind-hearted, sensitive keytar player Stormer (Mary Phillips).
keytar!

I named my childhood dog after Roxanne Pelligrini.

I feel like "not being able to shred" is fairly low on the list of things that bronies get accused of.

That's a "cutie mark" I am sure.
― carl agatha, Friday, 21 February 2014 23:16 (twelve years ago)
The pony represented there is named Big MacIntosh. He is Applejack's brother and lives at Sweet Apple Acres. carl, you are correct, that is his cutie mark.
― how's life, Friday, 21 February 2014 23:35 (twelve years ago)
I knew a 'big Macintosh'. He smoked cigarettes in grade school and always carried throwing knives.
