There's someone who is into everything. I saw a show recently where a guy was in a sexual (he made a big point of emphasizing the sex part) relationship with 20 inflatable pool toys.

I never got a "male kids into female-targeted cartoon" vibe, although that is a good basis for a film showing these are just kids who like a well-scripted animated show. I tend to get a "people who are socially awkward and older than the target audience who are engaging with the source material in deviant ways because they are neurotypical but very socially underdeveloped and have sexual attachments to cartoon horses" thing.

except that the current iteration of the show is made for teenagers, and is good enough that many non-weirdo adults are into it, kinda like power puff girls

not nec made for teenagers, per se, but the creator def quoted as saying she wanted it to have wide appeal so that teens and even adults could enjoy the writing and characters
