If "Layla" didn't kill the budget, then I doubt Roxy did.

Montgomery Burns' Jazz (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Sunday, 2 February 2014 15:26 (twelve years ago)

Yeah, but he has spoken before about plowing his own funds into the show to get music, I believe

President Frankenstein (kingfish), Sunday, 2 February 2014 18:58 (twelve years ago)

Quite like that it's centred around the campus again tbh. That was a big failing of the last season, and a good chunk of the third.

Matt DC, Sunday, 2 February 2014 19:12 (twelve years ago)

Ah, didn't know that.

xp

Has anyone watched DH's cartoon? It's called "Rick and Morty" and is on Adult Swim, and episodes are about 10 minutes long. It follows a kid and his constantly drunk mad scientist grandfather, sort of feeling like a Family Guy take on Dr. Who or something. I enjoyed the a-story about the title characters, but the b-story is the mom and dad, the latter of whom acts like he is the most brilliant person in the world and just won't shut up and really drags the whole thing down.

Emperor Cos Dashit (Adam Bruneau), Sunday, 2 February 2014 19:35 (twelve years ago)

i had no idea that was Harmon's

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Sunday, 2 February 2014 20:15 (twelve years ago)

Nhex, Sunday, 2 February 2014 21:57 (twelve years ago)

Rick And Morty didn't impress me at all when i saw it, been meaning to give it a second chance

scott c-word (some dude), Sunday, 2 February 2014 22:03 (twelve years ago)

As some have noted on its thread, the first episode is a little meh, but after that, look out.

I got the glares, the mutterings, the snarls (President Keyes), Wednesday, 26 February 2014 20:46 (twelve years ago)

This was kind of a dark episode. The Abed-Hickey scenes were rawer than this show usually plays it.

jmm, Friday, 28 February 2014 14:58 (twelve years ago)

this felt like a throwback to the episode around Troy's bday in season 2

Montgomery Burns' Jazz (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Friday, 28 February 2014 21:23 (twelve years ago)

I don't think I liked this episode as much as the reviewers, but this season has been astonishingly great. I love what they are doing with Buzz, Duncan and even Chang. At this point I want the rest of the original cast slowly phased out and the series continuing indefinitely with new characters, ER-style.

Frederik B, Friday, 28 February 2014 21:30 (twelve years ago)

It was a good episode. I still miss troy. But they are doing something about that. The Chang plot was great, and the final visual gag.

Good ep but one gag fell flat due to recent key and peele Halloween ep gag that is far superior

4. Nels Cline and My Uncle Eat Soup at Panera Bread (3:37) (Sufjan Grafton), Saturday, 1 March 2014 08:59 (twelve years ago)

this episode is why I am so glad Harmon is back... less funny, but like 100x more interesting (and still pretty funny!). that Key and Peele sketch was so good it's not even fair to compare other stuff to it.

erry red flag (f. hazel), Saturday, 1 March 2014 09:29 (twelve years ago)

The character's name is Police Justice.

wow such doge of venice (King Boy Pato), Saturday, 1 March 2014 14:37 (twelve years ago)

Was it resolved whether Chang was actually at the reception? I love the idea of the janitor and/or theatre audience just randomly messing with him.

jmm, Saturday, 1 March 2014 14:43 (twelve years ago)

Daaaark episode but I really enjoyed it, thought this one did all the character and relationship-building stuff the previous one should have. There's still loads of potential in building the Jeff and Duncan double-act.

Britta's character has been hard-done by in the last couple of seasons but they're doing great things with her this time round.

Matt DC, Saturday, 1 March 2014 15:03 (twelve years ago)

When does Oliver's HBO show start?

Johnny Fever, Saturday, 1 March 2014 15:06 (twelve years ago)

I feel for Duncan.

good ep. loved Chang's bit and Britta getting some respect again

Nhex, Sunday, 2 March 2014 06:19 (twelve years ago)

I'm in love with Britta when they do her well.

That was so good. One of their best episodes yet.

Best episode since S3.

CAROUSEL! CAROUSEL! (Telephone thing), Friday, 7 March 2014 22:22 (twelve years ago)

Loving the expansion of the Hurwitz/Harmon mutual admiration society.

Charles, hatless (sic), Friday, 7 March 2014 22:23 (twelve years ago)

I didn't really find Koogler very funny but the rest of the episode was A+++.

I notice they didn't include Magnitude in that episode because he would really have blown the Meowmeowbeanz system wide open.

Matt DC, Friday, 7 March 2014 22:57 (twelve years ago)

Jeff and Shirley rivalry episodes are so great.

Matt DC, Friday, 7 March 2014 23:04 (twelve years ago)

Didn't get any of the references (I'm told Hunger Games was one...?), still loved it. Very laff-heavy episode, especially after last week's...in fact, probably the most laff-heavy of the conceptual game-takes-over-Greendale eps.

Montgomery Burns' Jazz (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Friday, 7 March 2014 23:12 (twelve years ago)

amazing. another reference I'm sure…

Where did Koogler come from? Did I miss something (nb only watched a little bit of S4).

I wish to incorporate disco into my small business (chap), Saturday, 8 March 2014 02:39 (twelve years ago)

mitch hurwitz played koogler, he and harmon have become fast friends over the past year or so (dan had a cameo in the netflix arrested development episodes) so i think they were just finding something for hurwitz to do / spoofing on goofy college movies.

Clay, Saturday, 8 March 2014 02:46 (twelve years ago)

Oh so he was a new character to that episode. Gotcha.

Hurwitz has been on a few episodes of Harmon's podcast lately, and is generally hilarious.

Also yeah, liked this episode - Shirley/Jeff always a good pairing, oddly
