watching singing in the rain again (in HD!) -- which never really feels like a wasted evening.

i should be revising my thesis or responding to an inquiry to clarify some things from this guy who interviewed me for some article or doing laundry but instead i am just hanging out, thinking baout things.

went out to bar, watched a-league final, came home and ate nachos

hardly think nachos are boring

i do not mean to cast doubt on the quality of my nachos! but the saturdays of late are turning into mildly dull recovery nights. eg there's nothing inherently wrong with getting a pizza and watching football, but when you've been out till 4 on thursday and friday it does seem a bit lacking in hijinks!

so I left my neighbourhood to go to some party in west london with a girl from where I grew up in Dublin whom I met on the plane home a few weeks ago and assorted people from my small hometown.

WHY THE FUCK DID I THINK THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA?

the club was 10 pounds in, beer was 4 for a bottle, and it was weird and alienating, ultra loutish and really aggressively mainstream with bad music.

then i had to get two night buses home.

what a dumb saturday night. i am stupid.

friend is at a party 5 mins from here but it's 4am...tempted still tho

i've got tickets to that dean wareham/andy warhol thing but it starts in 15 minutes and i'm still at home and tired and it's freezing out but i've already spent $22

hoos, the other day i was talking nonsense to my little dog and i accidentally called him a hoos, it was pretty bad, luckily there were no humans around to demand an explanation.

estela can you give me advice on how to talk to dogs? i am staying with this dog and i feel like i should say something to her but i don't know what to say because i am not used to this and also i don't want to be one of those nutty people like my old neighbor or my old roommate who used to come home and talk baby talk to their cats all the time.

I talk to my parents dogs all the time. Sometimes even over the phone. Yeah, it's pretty bad.

usually i just say things like, do you like being a dog, or, you are a disgrace to that white woolen coat, or sometimes i'll say, hello my darling, in a turner classic movies arched eyebrow kind of voice, i hope that helps.

I'm going to start asking M&M if they like being dogs. It's probably important to know.

i wonder if they're as cryptic as harry.

We are chilling on the couch together because she got halfway on and then looked at me like 'aren't you coming?' so I did. I asked her if she likes being a dog but she didn't have much of an answer. Apparently the theme to doogie howser, md is very soothing to her, though!

Dogs and Saturday nights go together, apparently. I'm watching my parents' giant schnauzer.

Just back in from a great dinner with friends so now the rest of my night will be boring. But a well-fed, relaxed boring.

ate 'Jamaican' rice-beans-fake sausage dinner

saw decent variety/performance bill at the new location of Dixon Place

all of that alone, of course. now dead tired.

1:50 AM & I just finished off a mini pita filled with roasted red pepper hommus and tortilla chip shards. height of excitement, I should think.

I called my friend. I've avoided him for awhile now. Not sure if he'll call back. He knows I'll always pay for all the booze and weed, so he has no reason not to call me. He's unemployed and I'm not, etc.

But if he doesn't call, I'm fine. I've been getting in touch with my inner goth.

Maybe I'll put on Loop and regress back to my teenage years.
