Is John Sinclair a celebrity? Well, he is to me, so there. Saw him last night at a Marshall Allen gig, he even spoke to me but I couldn't make it what he said, pretty sure it wasn't "Kick out the jams, motherfucker" though.

Then in walked Barbara Castle with the Lady Eleanor (Tom D.), Tuesday, 7 July 2009 09:05 (sixteen years ago)

What was the gig like though?

Originally opened in 1964 (Ned Trifle II), Tuesday, 7 July 2009 09:09 (sixteen years ago)

Amazing, he played for 4 hours! He's 85 you know!

For a second there I thought you meant John Gordon Sinclair and I was puzzled why you'd find him hard to understand :/

salsa shark, Thursday, 23 July 2009 14:16 (sixteen years ago)

Is John Sinclair a celebrity? - He used to regularly play at a jazz club I worked at. Truthfully, he always came off as kind of a prick, but at least his ant-capitalist values held out enough to sell me a brand new, signed first edition of Guitar Army for like $15. He'll always be A+++ in my book b/c of that.

Pillbox, Thursday, 23 July 2009 14:52 (sixteen years ago)

Last week on the train to London I sat with Justin Lee Collins on the way up and Dick Strawbridge on the way back.

Mike Leigh in Waitrose. An old lady, who he seemed vaguely acquainted with, said to him 'you still making your films then?', in the same way your grandmother might ask you about one of your little hobbies.
