Right, this is on. Sounds like it's going to be fairly sedate - it's felt like someone's been having a funeral in my brain today and at times I've wanted to curl up in a little ball on the floor - but be good to see people. Will be in the station-convenient Stereo as soon as I can get out of work (probably about quarter/half past five).

Sorry, I have been extraordinarily careless in my budgeting and have zero money for fun between now and Christmas Eve. Enjoy sitting on Stereo's tremendously uncomfortable chairs or sofas!

I know I'm only 12 miles away from Glasgow and originally from EK which is mini-glasgow, so its possible lanarkshire/renfrewshire gets lumped in to it , but loads of those words are used here.
Gallus is a great word that no one uses it now. Even my EK friends say they havent heard it used in 30 years. Its a great Francie & Josie word though. Bring it back!

This is just horrendous. I was only up in Glasgow last week and walked right past it. I've known the GSoA practically all of my life. Apparently it was caused by an overheating projector. Jesus Christ, rebuild the whole thing in minute detail and to hell with the cost.

I can't imagine anything more devastating than seeing the building where all your academic work is housed going up in flames, I feel so bad for the people there.

Does anyone know how much of the building went on fire?

I have seen chatter on Facebook and Twitter it started in the basement but the pictures seems to show flames at the very top

The fire apparently started in the basement. I went by the scene an hour or so ago and fire could be seen on the top floor, both sides (Sauchiehall St and Renfrew St sides). Given that much of the interior is wooden, it's going to be very serious damage.

Degree show was supposed to be in a couple of weeks as well.

The pictures look awful; it's awful to think of it gone.
