from time to time i come across paranoid conspiracy theory evangelism "in the wild", without looking for it (i try not to). 2 memorable times: the day of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting , in the evening i googled keywords to know what was up and the second result was , i presume, hijacked to link to some of that crazy paranoid shit . i was double offended , don't think it was a troll.

another time was during the occupy everything saga: there were video feeds on the internet at some locations and the one closer to me was manned by one of those NWO freaks who joined them as a voluntary, doing good work no doubt , but was playing paranoid conspiracy videos during the night, associating them with the "occupy brand" on the sly. also , that giant zeitgeist banner at the site... terrible. put me off showing up. funny bonus: i could read some chat that they thought i could't read (they banned me for criticing one of the video) and one of the guy was explaining to another how to "game the Occupy self-organized assemblies"; make it look like i am the one who did a transgression, therefore making it ok to ban me. didn't care then, don't care now but i should have screencapped and hey , it's worth looking into "in general"
