Special "The Record" process to be initiated when anyone uses The phrase "for the record" or "ftr", involving (a) an automated response from "The Record" thanking the poster for their contribution to The Record, and (b) an actual record, kept threadwise, of those posts.

I think it a tragedy that these important contributions are not curated properly and respectfully.

ILx is *a* record, of sorts, but if it were The Record, it wouldn't be necessary for ILxors to point out when certain posts were intended for The Record.

Unless, that is, you're arguing that such posts are being made - such markers laid down - for the particular benefit of ILx, and that saying "for the record" denotes a post setting out a position taken on ILx and not sincerely held.

Delete everything every year. An annual new start.

Initially didn't want to FP you but later felt that this board should exist under the rule of law

I know KenzoDB is very different from the ilx code, but it'd be cool if there was some quick/easy way to create an ILXOR map similar to the WFMU donor map -- http://wfmu.org/marathon/map.php

it'd be pretty easy using geoip services, but there's mixed utility there

might also be bad if there are some ilxors who live in sparsely-populated areas and even the zip code would give them away. an opt-in option might be ok?
