No one's complained about Heritage on the Guardian thread so I assumed he probably was an ilxor

Chuck_Tatum, Wednesday, 27 November 2013 15:38 (twelve years ago)

No idea, but he is total shit.

oppet, Wednesday, 27 November 2013 19:12 (twelve years ago)

It seems p likely a lot of journos might lazily steal ideas from lurking in forums like ours anyways.

You seriously think nobody outside of ILX has noticed the epidemic of twee marketing and had to "steal" the idea? I love this place but I would have to say that's unlikely.

Heritage seems to be constantly in the lifestyyyyle bits of the guardian recently - i can only assume he has alimony or a sudden credit card debt or something that requires a lot of G2 guff to support it.

@rmkf Ouch! We have lots of offers to suit everyone. Have you downloaded our Priority Moments app?

Legitimate space tale (LocalGarda), Thursday, 28 November 2013 17:17 (twelve years ago)

I think Heritage does a lot of liveblogging stuff, so someone's surely complained about him somewhere.

I found today that they don't make MAILER-DAEMON messages like they used to:

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at engine02-21434-2.icritical.com.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

Shed Your Tears
Well, folks, the time for Yummy Rummy's December 3 send-off is finally upon us. We've put pennies in its eyes, and are settin' it free on the soft currents of the ever-after. Gone but never forgotten. Or just gone until we're out of other ideas.

So here's what you should be doing:

1. If you're holding on to Yummy Rummy plays, use them now. After December 3, they're just effigies for posterity. Our antiques guy doesn't forecast much worth-accumulation on 'em either...
2. If you've got unexpired prizes, breathe easy. We played for keeps; they're still yours.
If you need a place for your thoughts or fond memories, do that here. And hey, we're not saying so long forever, just for now. Yummy Rummy could be back - as a dove. Or a game. Or maybe as a spirit that pushes out the clouds and lets the sun shine.

Love,
GrubHub

I should have been clearer: I wasn't suggesting we came up with the idea of hating this marketing angle, just riffing more generally on journos trawling discussion forums to spark ideas for stories (not outright go "oh wait, i never thought of that!" really).

10 bizarre objects found in 'cool' offices

All that self-sacrifice, judgement, self-pity! I’d say it’s (snoball), Tuesday, 17 December 2013 11:23 (twelve years ago)

we inherited a telecom company's design choices when we moved into their old offices. cringeworthy, the lot of them. (actually, the mural in the boardroom is well done but we should paint over it as it's one enormous branding exercise. and the table with the map of nyc is ok)

(actually, we have stunk up the place ourselves with the neon heart and all the record label specific art from the last place (we moved from an old ex-record label headquarters and had bought a lot of stuff relating to them for decoration))

I think I posted this before but this Mini is a meeting room at Rackspace

They also have an indoor garden with swings.

lol yeah i would have no problem working at a place with a car in the middle of it but the second someone made me sit in it to have a meeting i'd tender resignation
